Summary

By this point, we’re all familiar with the long-running meme of a Nokia phone being virtually indestructible.

Seriously, there’s no shortage of videos of people attempting to find out just how sturdy the phone is.

That said, it appears that we can add the Xbox Series S to that line of indestructible technology. Because, as it turns out, the Series S actually saved a gamer’s life and is still in working condition.

This Is An Xbox

Meet Brandon, a video game fan, who happened to biking home from GameStop with an Xbox Series S in his backpack, when he was struck by a truck.

As the user shared on Twitter, he was dragged underneath the moving vehicle, but was spared any fatal or life-threatening injuries due in no small part to the Series S that was in his backpack. In his words, the console prevented him from hitting his head.

Still, it’s not like Brandon didn’t suffer any injuries. He has a broken bone in his left foot, some bruising and road rash, but is otherwise alive and well. And the Xbox? It still runs. Despite being majorly cracked, and the controller almost unrecognizable, everything managed to power on.

Within nearly 24 hours, his post went viral, with many in the gaming community sharing his story and wishing him well on his recovery. That list also includes Xbox itself, as the official account replied to Brandon, letting him know that it would love to send him a new Xbox.

It’s a rather happy ending for what could have ended up as a tragic story. Don’t let anyone tell you that a console can’t do more than just play games. It may even save your life.
