Brighter Shoresis packed with professions for you to level up. You don’t have to pick one to focus on, but if you feel like going above and beyond in a certain profession, there is nothing stopping you! In addition to leveling professions, you’ll also be able to choose a class.

Unlike other MMOs, classes are a bit more limited in Brighter Shores. In fact, you’ll only find three classes for you to choose from, and you won’t be able to pick a different one later in the game. Because of this, it’s important to pick one that you truly want! Here, we will go over and rank each class in Brighter Shores.

There is no ‘best’ class in Brighter Shores, as they work similarly to rock-paper-scissors; each class has a weakness and strength that balances them all out. As such, this is based on the overall feel of each class. Remember, there is no bad choice, just have fun!

How To Choose Your Class

Before looking at each class in Brighter Shores, it’s important to understand how you’ll actually pick your class, This does not happen at the start of the game; instead, you’ll need towait until you get to the second act, which ventures into Hopeforest. To get to this point, you should just progress through the main story, which requires you to have a total level of 60.

Once you’re at this level, you can enter Hopeforest. The area won’t be free for you to explore initially, as you’ll need to work on the quest, but eventually, the story will take you to the Dryad Glade, where you’ll need to defeat a level ten enemy(this means that you’ll also need to level your Scout profession).

After defeating the ‘enemy’ and speaking to the Dryad, you’ll need to head north to the Thin Trail. After a short section here, you’llenter into a cave where there are three pools;each one represents a class that you can choose. From here, you can choose betweenCryoknight, Guardian, and Hammermage.

Class Strength

Hammermage

The Guardian is a classic, magic-using class thatharnesses the power of nature. As a Guardian, you’ll alsohave weapons and armor that are made out of bone, giving you quite a natural appearance. Since the Dryad is associated with this class (she stands near the pool for Guardian), you canexpect this to feel like a typical Dyrad class from other games.

By no means is Guardian the worst option, but if you favor up-close melee combat, then you may be left wanting more with this faction. If you do prefer ranged combat though, then this is a great option. While there are no unique class skills in the game yet,the ones for Guardian may end up relating to healing in battle.

Interestingly, as I played, I saw the fewest amount of Guardians in the world. I personally chose Guardian though, as the Dyrad and nature aesthetic was nice. When PvP is added to the game, Guardians will have plenty of enemies to defeat, as there are a lot of players currently picking Hammermage.

Guardian

Looking to swing your sword and deal some damage? The Cryoknight is atypical warrior-type class that lets you use your ice magic to defeat enemies close-up.Like the Guardian, the Cryoknight favors one type of attack.

This can be hard to deal with if you are in need of a ranged attack to take a strong enemy down, but you may still get by. Since this is a classic warrior class, you may even see a lot of players running around as the Cryoknight class in the game.

Remember, you’re able to make multiple characters; if you choose a class and don’t like it,you can make another character and choose one of the other two!

Melee and Ranged

Cryoknight

Lastly, we have the Hammermage. This class isn’t better or worse than any others (since the class system is very balanced),but if you are looking for a class that isa bit more unique, then the Hammermage may be the way to go. Additionally, using a hammer to deal attacks is always satisfying.

While class skills haven’t been added to the game just yet, the Hammermage is unique enough that we speculate the skills will be pretty nice. Overall though, just keep in mind thatall three class options are great; your choice just comes down to personal preference.
