It won’t be long after you start playingStalker 2: Heart Of Chornobylthat you get introduced to the artifacts. In fact, this will be the main reason for Skif to arrive in The Zone as his house was burnt to a crisp because of one. These artifacts are known to be found commonly in the Zone, but they don’t survive outside it.

However, as long as you stay in this world, you can make good use of these artifacts since they provide you resistance to various environmental problems while some of them serve other purposes as well.

Where To Get Artifacts

There are quite a lot of ways to get yourself some artifacts in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, but one of the main and themost reliable methods is looking for a group of anomalies. You’ll first find these after youexit the mobile lab in There And Back Again quest, where the game also asks you to get your first artifact.

For this one, you simply have to whip out your detector (you can check the keybind for this in settings, but it’s 7 by default on PC) andmove towards the direction where the blue light on it becomes more aggressive. You have to get very close to the artifact for it to come out of the ground.

You’ll know when the artifact appears with aglow nearby and the blue light turning off.

you’re able to find these groups of anomalies all across different parts of The Zone, andyou’ll likely find an artifact within each one. The artifacts you get here are usually randomized, which means that you can save the game before trying to get one and then repeat the process until you get one that you’re satisfied with.

Apart from these, you can also get some artifacts during main quests, side quests, and specific locations. In some cases, like the Budmo! quest, you have achoice to take the artifacts or leave them to complete the quest. Moreover, the artifacts that exist in a specific location are always the same.

How To Upgrade Your Detector

The starting detector that you get can be quite frustrating to use since itneither gives you the direction to reach the artifact nor tells you the exact distance. To solve this problem, you may get upgraded detectors from two side quests in the early game:

Budmo!

If you loot the stash near the power transmission pylon in this quest, you can get yourself a nice detector thattells you the distance between you and the artifactup to 100 meters.

A Sign Of Hope

Finishing this quest will give you another upgraded detector regardless of thechoices you make during the quest. This detector essentially tells you thedirection you need to walk in and how close you areto the artifact.
