Summary

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate’s first expansion has been revealed as Junkyard Jam, which launches on February 5 and adds Casey Jones as a playable character.

From launching on Apple Arcade in 2023to its bodacious Steam and Switch ports in 2024,TMNT: Splintered Fate has been on quite the journey over the past year and a bit. That journey is really just beginning, though, as Super Evil Megacorp confirmed some time ago that its Turtley roguelikewould not only be getting frequent updates but also a fully-fledged expansion.

Although nothing concrete on the first DLC was confirmed back when the roadmap was shared, the studio has recently been teasing what’s to come for Splintered Fate fans. After confirming the theme and some of the characters, the DLC has finally been completely revealed as Junkyard Jam, which will bring along Casey Jones as a playable character.

Casey Jones Is TMNT Splintered Fate’s First DLC Character

The reveal trailer for Junkyard Jam confirms that the expansion is launching next week on February 5 and taking players to a unique junkyard called the “Punkyard”. If that name didn’t clue you in, the big draw of the expansion is that it’s making Casey Jones playable alongside the Ninja Turtles.

Casey was already in Splintered Fate as one of the characters you’d encounter during your runs, but he’s now getting the spotlight in Junkyard Jam. The reveal trailer showed off how Casey will use his unique arsenal of sports equipment during combat, including a unique use of hockey pucks that makes him the first character with a ranged attack.

If you read my interview with Super Evil Megacorp last year, you’ll know that I’ve been vying for Casey Jones as a playable character formonths. You can only imagine my reaction when it was confirmed to be him.

While Casey being playable is no doubt the highlight of the DLC (and the answer to my prayers), he’s not the only focus of Junkyard Jam. The Punk Frogs will also be a key part of the expansion, with Rasputin, Attila, Genghis, and Napoleonall being spotted in the reveal trailer and DLC teases. The Punk Frogs were also a part of the base game, but they’re getting a proper inclusion this time around.
