The garage is your home inSynduality: Echo of Ada. You may not have the freedom to move around it yourself, though the various areas you visit will still reflect your upgrades. It’s more than just visual though, with many of the aspects of your garage opening up brand-new gameplay mechanics as it gets tidied up.
It takes time though, with every repair taking place in real-time. It’s all worth it though, both for the new mechanics and to stop living in a mouldy, overgrown garage. So here’s how to get started on getting your garage into tip-top shape, and where you should focus your efforts first.
How To Unlock Every Area of The Garage
From the off-set,you will have three areas to direct your efforts, and you will have to go through them one-by-one before they start to expand. Starting with the Production Space, then the Pit Space, and finally the Living Space, you must rebuild the Floors, Walls, and Ceiling of each. This first stage only takes ten seconds, though will start to lengthen for more advanced upgrades.
Once these are finished in all three areas, the rest of their upgrades will unlock. Except for the Living Space, wherethe majority of its facilities are locked behind later upgrades. We’ll get there in time. For the most part though, the majority of areas will now be available for upgrade. Let’s see which are the ones you should put your attention towards.
Further upgrades to the Floor, Walls, and Ceiling are required for later upgrades in some facilities, thoughdo not provide any extra benefits in themselvesbeyond visuals.
The Best Areas To Upgrade First
Once these areas have opened up, you won’t want to just throw around your materials and money at random, since they are both in quite short supply. Instead, choose your priorities to get the most out of itand unlock the remaining gameplay mechanics as soon as possible.
Make sure to use the Wish List featureso that your Magus will highlight any required items for you while you’re out on a sortie.
Production Space
The Production Space is where the majority of your crafting efforts will take place, as well as repairs. There aretwo additional upgrades here you can get, and both are equally important. Here’s what they do:
These two facilities will be core to your exploration, soinvest in them immediately. You can choose whichever you want first, though we would recommend the Craft Station.
Unlike crafting, you canhave as many facilities under construction at onceas you want.
Pit Space
The Pit Space is based around your Cradlecoffin and supplies. It’swhere you store all your gathered materialsand where your mech hangs out between missions. Its your prep area and storehouse. And that’s where you’ll be focusing your upgrades.
The Item Warehouse is priority number one, as you will quickly hit the 100 item limit the game originally has. The first upgrade doubles it up to 200, which gives you a massive amount more breathing room. The Transport Elevator is not as essential, thoughhaving some guaranteed resourcescoming in is a massive help.
Frustratingly, the only way to check how many items are in the Item Warehouse is togo to the Item Shop in the Sortie Menu and check what items you can sell.
Living Space
The Living Space iswhere your Magus (and you, presumably) relax between missions. It’s got your beds, your personal collection of things, and all the other comforts you could hope for. That’s why it has the most upgrades by far, though there is only a few we’ll be focusing on.
To unlock all of these upgrades, you need to further upgrade the Living Space first. You will eventually receive aRequest that asks you to upgrade your Sleeping Quarters. Once this task is complete, the remainder of the Living Spaces facilities will become available for upgrading.
The Washroom will be unlocked along the way, and there’s no particular need to upgrade it any further unless you want your Magus to have a more luxurious bath. TheInsurance Payout Receiveris what you should aim for afterwards, as you can be sure you’ll be getting insurance payouts a-plenty with how often you’ll be destroyed in Synduality. Finally, there is the Piggy Bank. This first requires you to upgrade Tables.
With all of those out of the way, you have a fully functioning Garage! There are plenty more upgrades for you to sink your teeth into, thoughthey are prohibitively expensive and require some rare materials. Give it some time and you’ll have a Garage that is the envy of every Drifter on the surface.
