The 3.0 update taking us to Amphoreus fast approaches, andHonkai: Star Railplayers everywhere will need to prepare not only to pull for new characters, but also build teams to help with the new and likely difficult content coming our way. The Remembrance path will undoubtedly shake up the meta in significant ways, but we can take the time before 3.0 to get a few teams up and running.

The team you make will depend on what you have available, but the 2.7 banners give us at least one synergy worth investing in.

Jing Yuan, Sunday, Robin, and Huo Huolined up in Honkai: Star Rail.

Aventurine

Sustain

With the release of Sunday,General Jing Yuan has entered a new era of dominanceas one of the few characters pre-3.0 with a summon as part of his kit. Sunday gives both characters and their summons 100 percent action forward, meaning the Lightning Lord can act immediately after Jing Yuan does, far faster than his abysmal 90 Speed would otherwise allow.

This single change causesJing Yuan’s damage output and overall consistency to skyrocket, even when you don’t figure in the 50 percent additional damage bonus Sunday’s Skill applies to the summon with every use.

Feixiao, Topaz, Robin, and Aventurine lined up in Honkai: Star Rail.

The DPS improvement is such thatJing Yuan, an Erudition Pathstrider specializing in AoE damage, can do respectable single-target DPS, and his multi-target shoots through the roof.

If you addRobin and Aventurine to the Jing Yuan/Sunday team, you have even more action forward from Robin’s Ultimate and additional buffs from her Skill. Huo Huo is another strong sustain choice for the additional team-wide Energy, and you can sub Robin for Tingyun for crazy Ultimate uptime on Jing Yuan. Gallagher can be a fine choice in the absence of any others.

IL Dan Heng, Sparkle, Tingyun, and Huo Huo lined up in Honkai: Star Rail.

It’s hard to come up with a team better at everything than the meta Feixiao team. While it doesn’t have the raw damage of some other team compositions, it’s consistent, easy to build, and usable in every piece of content we’ve seen in the game so far.

Plus,if going fast is high on your list of things to do, Feixiao’s technique not only lets you run around maps at nearly double speed, but the wind current she kicks up cracks open destructible items in the environment and picks up smaller enemies for you to clear all at once.

Honkai: Star Rail’s Moze, Tingyun, March 7th, and Gallagher in a line.

You can modify the team somewhat if you don’t have specific characters. You can sub out Topaz for Imaginary March 7th, Gallagher or Lingsha for Aventurine, and Sparkle or Bronya for Robinif necessary.

Your primary focus in this team is always to maximize how many follow-up attacks you can trigger to enable Feixiao’s Ultimate, and both Topaz and Imaginary March 7th fill that void. The supporting cast is a bit more flexible.

Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae or Acheron

Pela, Silver Wolf, or Bronya

Huo Huo, Fu Xuan, or Gallagher

If you’ve taken a break from Honkai: Star Rail, you might not have access to some of the latest characters, but you may have the top-tier options from several patches in the past. Two of the strongest areImbibitor Lunae and Acheron, who have had a single rerun since their release.

Between the two, Acheron is the stronger, butwith the addition of Sunday, Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae is much better than he was, even given the power difference. Pairing him with Sparkle alleviates almost all of his Skill Point economy problems and gives him plenty of additional damage. Tingyun helps IB Dan Heng with his Energy and damage.

Sparkle also helps Acheron andcan effectively stand in as a second Nihility unit, as her buffs are a close approximation of the bonus damage Acheron would receive with a second Nihility character active.

Pela is a fantastic debuffer with a solid Skill Point economy, and Silver Wolf can provide effectively infinite debuffs, as well.

Bronya is incredibly Skill Point-hungry, buther buffs remain some of the strongest in the game, even after almost three years.

Your sustain options haven’t moved too much on the tier list either, withHuo Huo and Fu Xuan still providing plenty of heals/damage mitigation, and Gallagher is almost too good to not use in any team, provided you have him.

Gallagher

This team setup does have some gacha characters in it, buteveryone here is a four-star and much more accessible than almost any of the other characters so far. Both Tingyun and Gallagher are the harder of the four to get, with both Moze and March 7th being a part of in-game events.

Moze himself is a passable single-target follow-up attack DPS, andImaginary March 7th remains a solid sub-DPS in follow-up attack teams.

Tingyun’s damage buff and Energy-giving abilities will help Moze keep his Ultimate activeand his Prey stacks building, and Gallagher is the best non-5-star healer in the game, so there’s no reason not to use him if he’s available.

If you don’t have Gallagher,Lynx is a completely free unit you’ll earn as you progress through the gameand is an acceptable stand-in until you land the drink-smith.
