Call of Duty: Black Ops 6prides itself on having a diverse set of weapons and gear to help cater for tons of customized loadouts. Aside from choosing the right primary and secondary weapons, you have to choose a viable lethal, tactical, field upgrade, perk combo, andwildcard. Among these, what truly makes a skilled player stand out is how they use their lethal and tactical equipment, especially the latter.
Unlike lethal equipment, tacticals are remarkably versatile, offering distinct abilities to reveal enemy positions, debuff opponents, aid in quick escapes, and more. Still, you must learn the proper setups to maximize their potential. Fortunately, with eight tactical equipment in the game, there’s no shortage of options, with a few standing out as premium choices.
8Decoy
Unlock Requirement: Level 35
In any other FPS title,a Decoy can be a great way to lure out enemies and finish them off. However, this strategy rarely brings resultsin a fast-paced game like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Unless you’re in a 1v1 or 1v2 scenario, most players will choose to ignore the Decoy’s audio queues, like fake footsteps and gunfire, rendering it entirely useless in multiplayer.
Looking beyond the online matchmaking system, though, the Decoy can be a lifesaver in Zombies Mode, helping you distract zombies while you sprint away or blast their heads off while they’re preoccupied. It’s just a shame thatthis sort of tactical approach is underwhelming against other players.
7Prox Alarm
Unlock Requirement: Level 23
When it comes to simply revealing and relaying enemy positions, the Prox Alarm does the job, butit’s extremely limited in scope and usability. It beats out the Spy Cam when it comes to smaller maps but is weaker in almost every other category—range, duration, versatility, and accuracy of the market target.
The only place where the Prox Alarm gets a chance to shine is in Search and Destroy. You can put the alarm on the objectives or common chokepointsto gain the upper hand. In other scenarios, unfortunately, it falls short of delivering any meaningful informationbecause you can’t react to that insight in time.
6Smoke
Unlock Requirement: Level 17
Buying time to drag out the round or escape a dangerous situationby confusing your opponents is a solid strategy. While you can use other tactical equipment to do this, none are as reliable as the Smoke Grenade, a staple in the Call of Duty series, as well as the FPS genre.
The Smoke in Black Ops 6 is roughly the same as previous Call of Duty titles, meaning it’sjust as widespread, long-lasting, and effective. It’s primarily meant for medium-sized and large maps, butyou can still make it useful in smaller mapsfound in Face Off Moshpit.
You can use theOtero Thermal 2x Opticto help identify enemies through the smokescreen, giving you a massive advantage.
5Shock Charge
Unlock Requirement: Level 42
Players tend to pass off the Shock Charge because of how obscure it is, but in Black Ops 6,it essentially acts as a throwable proximity minethat triggers instantly when the opponent steps on it. You can hardly spot this device because of how small it is, andthe electrocution effect lasts a long while.
Except for Search and Destroy, this is a viable tactical gear for almost any multiplayer mode. It’s easy to use, requires barely any timing, and can even stick directly to the opponent. On several occasions, it feels stronger than the proximity mine, butits lackluster AoE and opponents' ability to shoot you, while electrocuted,is a considerable drawback.
4Concussion
Unlock Requirement: None
One of the most frustrating moments in Call of Duty isseeing enemies escape a perfectly thrown explosive before it detonates.Thankfully, with the Concussion Grenade slowing them down, you no longer have to worry about that. If you’re someonewho loves frag grenades, Molotov cocktails, and other lethals, this tactical equipment is for you.
Although there are a few other debuffs like aim-swaying and deafening, slowing down opponents is, by far, the Concussion’s strongest feature. This can give you a solidearly-round lead in game modes like Hardpoint and Domination, where you must reach the center of the map before the enemy team.
3Spy Cam
Unlock Requirement: Level 12
If you have high-penetration bullets and a steady hand, the Spy Cam can do wonders on the battlefield. you may equip this at any time and automatically get a snapshot of any enemy in sight, tracking them with a bright red outlinethat lasts several seconds.
On long-range maps where it’s tougher to identify opponents, the Spy Cam is an absolute gem.The equipping and unequipping time is fairly quick, and seeing your enemies in real-time through penetrating surfaces is a huge lead. While this device isn’t as useful in certain modes like Hardcore and Zombies,it can reap tons of rewards and EXP under most conditions.
Enemies marked with the Spy Cam can also be traced through smokescreens!
2Flashbang
Unlock Requirement: Level 6
When picking between the Concussion and the Flashbang, it boils down towhich one dazes the enemy more.In that regard, the latter is much more consistent, making it nearly impossible for the target to shoot anything before they recover.
Unlike the Concussion, the Flashbang favors guns instead of lethal equipment, and a direct hit can deafen and blind you for several seconds. The chances of a flashed enemy killing you by sheer luck are much lower, and that sort of reliabilitycan be vital in short and medium-sized maps.
1Stim Shot
Unlock Requirement: Level 30
Although not as useful in Warzone, the Stim Shot is arguably the best life-saving tactical equipmentin Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Byinstantly regenerating your HP and Tactical Sprint, this device can help you win and sometimes escape gunfights.
Another major selling point about the Stim isit can recharge mid-fight, letting you use it more than once each life. If you want to maintain a solid kill-death ratio, this is likely your best bet, as itencourages multi-kills by overriding the cooldown delayand instantly initiating health recovery after a hard-fought 1v1.
