Every year, dozens ofmobile gameslaunch. Many quietly come and go, while some make waves within the mobile gaming community. Not every new launch is a banger, but in 2024, we received several mobile games that stand out among the rest.

In this list, we are going to take a look at the best mobile games that came out in 2024. Many of these games are available on other platforms as well, but you’ll be able to find them all on iOS or Android. If one of your favorites isn’t on the list, that’s okay! This is just a handful of our favorites.

First up, we have Zenless Zone Zero, or ZZZ. This is thenewest game in the HoYoverse. Set in the futuristic city of New Eridu, ZZZ places you in the shoes of either Belle or Wise (the choice is yours!). This sibling duo acts as proxies for the summonable characters who explore Hollows.

As a HoYoverse game, you can expect smooth combat, great voice acting, and great graphics. The summonable characters (called Agents) are all unique and interesting with their own story and identity. Overall, this is a great first game to play if you’ve never dived in the HoYoverse before.

Next, we have Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium. This is a sequel to the first Girls' Frontline game, where each summonable character has a signature, real-world gun. For example, the character Daiyan uses a Type 95, which is an assault rifle.

This sequel revisits the world ten years after the first Girls' Frontline game. Rather than just watching your characters auto-battle, Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium involves strategy during combat, much like X-COM. What more could you ask for besides anime girl X-COM?

At its core, Love and Deepspace is an otome game with four interests that you can get to know. There is more than meets the eye here though; Love and Deepspace has an interesting futuristic/sci-fi story and absolutely phenomenal graphics.

In addition to talking with the main love interests, you can increase your bond with them, send texts, and even cause their heart rate to rise. If you are a fan of otome games, then Love and Deepspace is definitely worth checking out.

Anime visual novel fans, rejoice! Heaven Burns Red was written by Jun Maeda, who also worked on Clannad, Angel Beats!, and Charlotte. In Heaven Burns Red, you play as Ruka Kayamori in a world that is being attacked by aliens.

Heaven Burns Red has a visual novel feel with the addition of a gacha system. Together with these summonable characters, you’ll need to save the world! Along the way, you’ll fight battles and experience a well-crafted story.

Heaven Burns Red launched in 2022 in Japan, but the worldwide version launched in 2024.

At this point, you’ve probably heard about Pokemon TCG Pocket. This is essentially a mobile version of Pokemon card collecting. Each day, you’ll be able toopen packs of cardswith the goal of collecting them all.

With your cards, you’ll be able to battle with other players. Of course, this isn’t required! You can spend your entire time opening cards and building up your collection without ever entering a battle if you want to.

3Please Touch The Artwork 2

Do you have the urge to touch artwork directly? With Please, Touch The Artwork 2, you’re dreams will come true. This is a hidden object game where your goal is to touch artwork in order to point out specific items.

The best part? Please, Touch The Artwork 2 is completely free. There are no ads or microtransactions here, which means that you can get the full experience without ever spending a dime. Overall, Please, Touch The Artwork 2 is a great game to play if you want to sit back and relax.

2Balatro

We all know Balatro at this point. After being one of the gamesnominated for Game of the Year at this year’s The Game Awards, Balatro gained a lot of popularity. This popularity is warranted though, as the game will instantly hook you in.

So, what is Balatro? This is a roguelike deck-building game that requires you to build a powerful deck. While Balatro does have a certain amount of RNG (as with any roguelike game), you’ll still be able to hone your skills to successfully complete a run.

There are several games in the Nikki franchise, developed by Papergames. Back in 2017, Love Nikki launched as a dress-up game with anime-like art. In 2021, Shining Nikki upped the graphics with 3D models and even more outfits. Now, in 2024, Infinity Nikki expands the world once more. For the first time, Nikki is in an open world with Momo by her side.

Fans of the Nikki games and newcomers alike should check out this impressive title. You can expect a similar gacha system and an array of currencies, but overall, Inifinity Nikki proves that great games don’t need to be violent.
