Call of Duty: Black Ops 6has the weapon diversity we’ve come to expect from a CoD release, and so naturally includes that same weapon class that’s always held in either high reverence or complete disdain: sniper rifles. Whether you enjoy sniper rifles or not, it’s worth understanding how they work best, and the best load-outs that contain them.

The LW3A1 Frostline sniper rifle is the first sniper unlocked out of three total (so far) in the class. As with every sniper rifle, it has the potential to be a massive problem for the enemy, but in the wrong hands, or built poorly, can be a detriment.

LW3A1 Frostline Strengths And Weaknesses

Many of the strengths of the Frostline are strengths thatevery sniper rifle share: one-shot possibility, even to the body. The ability to completely close down a lane. And flexibility in scopes, allowing you to use it in various ranges.

The Frostline’s Weaknesses

What the Frostline doesn’t have that the other two snipers do is theincreased damage potential of the LR 7.62or therate of fire of the SVD. TheFrostline is somewhat of a middle groundbetween these two extremes, with a slightly higher fire rate than the LR 7.62, but a bit more damage than the SVD.

LW3A1 Frostline | Marine SP

This loadout is the epitome ofall or nothing, but for a player who understands where and when to swap between these weapons and puts themselves in the right positions, this loadout is going to perform exceptionally well. Both of these weapons easily one-shot an enemyin their respective situations. And, each of these weapons is largely ineffective outside their situations.

Map knowledge and game sense are going to be every bit a part of this loadout as any item you equip.

LW3A1 Frostline Gunsmith Build

The Frostline gets to be exactly what it wants to be, here; asniper rifle capable of winning every medium and long-range engagementthat it gets into. These attachments are going to balance each aspect of it a little bit, shaving down the rougher edges of the weapon and making it easier to use in its ideal scenarios.

Optic

Pinpoint Hybrid

The scope mostly comes down to preference, and you should go with what you’re most comfortable with. An advantage of the pinpoint hybrid is the variable zoom, featuring a holographic sight for medium ranges and a 4.5x for longer ones.

Fire Mod

Rapid Fire

+28% Fire Rate | -15% Bullet Velocity | +25% Recoil Gun Kick/Vertical Recoil | +20% Horizontal Recoil

Comb

Commando Riser

+6% Aim Down Sight Speed | +14% Sprint To Fire Speed

Heavy Stock

Flinch Resistance

The rapid-fire mod is going to allow you to shootalmost one shot per second, getting a follow-up shot out much quicker on a miss, or for better multi-kill potential. Thedecreased swayand theflinch resistanceare going to go a long way toward ensuring you miss fewer shots overall, and the commando riser is going to make the sniper a bit more friendly to use.

Marine SP Gunsmith Build

ThisMarine SP buildis, similarly to the Frostline build, going to help the weapon do what it’s already good at, and not try to give it extra capabilities. One of the biggest priorities with a shotgun is getting thesprint-to-fire speedup, followed closely byincreasing the lethal rangeas much as possible.

Barrel

Long Barrel

The Marine SP can be a wildly effective gun with the right build, and this is one of those builds that make it into a beast. Activatingtactical stance makes this weapon tremendously accurate, even more so than in ADS (aiming down sights), and the combat stock is going to help you win those more acrobatic gunfights.

The LWA31 Frostline | Marine SP Full Loadout

This loadout is builttosupportyour ability to stick the fight out in close combatwhen you’ve got your Marine SP in your hands. Your Frostline requires less support because generally, you’re in less immediate danger when using a sniper rifle compared to a shotgun.

Wildcard

Overkill

The main perk that’s important here isFast Hands; the ability toswap weapons quicklyis even more important when you have two weapons with wildly different ideal engagements. That said, Ghost will help you take enemies by surprise and get that one shot you need off more often, and Bankroll is going to help you reach scorestreaks more consistently.

LW3A1 Frostline | Grekhova

This weapon combination foregoes bringing Overkill, making the Frostline the undisputed star. The Grekhova pistol is full auto and can dispatch enemies extremely quickly in close range, but the multi-kill potential on it is very low, making it a firm secondary.

Primarily, this loadout is for a focused sniper. It’s going to give you maximum freedom to fully build the sniper in the gunsmith with the Wildcard choice, ensuring you get everything you can out of it.

This Frostline builds further on the last one, adding three more attachmentsthat make it even easier to use.

Preference

Once again, this part of the build comes entirely down to preference, though something that affords you flexibility is very nice, and is going to increase your versatility.

Magazine

Extended Mag I

+2 Mag Size | -13% Reload Speed | -7% Empty Reload Speed

Laser

Target Laser

+230% Aiming Idle Sway Delay | Increased Aim Walking Steadiness | Laser Visible In ADS

The addition of the extended mag is going toincrease your multi-kill potentialwithout slowing down your ADS speed. While bullet velocity isn’t as important in multiplayer as it is in Warzone, your bullet traveling quicker will still be beneficial. And, the target laser is going to make the weapon easier to manage.

Grekhova Gunsmith Build

TheGrekhovais what you’re likely going to pull outwhen an enemy gets too closefor you to comfortably use your sniper rifle. With it being a secondary weapon, the magazine size isn’t going to be great, but for dispatching one or two enemies who’ve gotten too close, it can get the job done.

Strelok Laser

Better Hipfire To Aim Down Sights Accuracy | Laser Visible In ADS

Short Barrel

Faster Jumping Aim Down Sight Speed | Faster Jumping Sprint To Fire Speed

While the magazine size can be increased with an extended mag, it would hurt the weapons' mobility. Since the function of the Grekhova in this loadout is as a backup when someone gets in close, theemphasis is on the weapon being fast and controllable, which this gunsmith build excels at.

The LW3A1 Frostline | Grekhova Full Loadout

This loadout is built to fully support a sniper playstyle; it’s not equipped to do anything else, nor is the weaponry. But, it’s going to bevery effective for a full-time sniper.

Gunfighter

This combination of perks is going toenable the Recon specialty, which is great for everybody, andperfect for snipers, as it reveals all enemy positions for a second when you spawn. Yourprox alarms, blast traps, and spring minesare going to let you watch your own back in a variety of ways, letting you know when it might be worth either finding a new position or at least knowing you might have company soon.
