ThePokemon TCG’s first Scarlet & Violet-era set, the eponymous Scarlet & Violet, was released in March 2023 after the mainlinePokemon Scarlet & Violetgames released in November 2022. Unveiling a plethora of new trainers and Pokemon, Scarlet & Violet has been a highly popular series for the Pokemon TCG.
While some of the most valuable sets from this era of the TCG are not available in booster boxes – looking at you Scarlet & Violet 151 and Paldean Fates – the most valuable booster boxes from the Scarlet & Violet era are replete with value for collectors and fans. Let’s take a look.

8Scarlet & Violet
Market Price: $137.22
The first booster box of the Scarlet & Violet era can be had for just under $140, which is honestly quite a good deal when you look at the most valuable cards from that set.
Sitting at the top of the list is Gardevoir ex with a price point of $48.07, which is part of a triptych of cards with connected artwork by Jiro Sasuma that shows a young girl with a Ralts growing up and becoming a mother with a Kirlia by her side, and then a Gardevoir card that shows the woman as a grandmother.
7Paradox Rift
Market Price: $139.93
Paradox Rift was the fourth full expansion released during the Scarlet & Violet era, and it represented the debut of Ancient and Future sub-types on cards, though Paradox Pokemon had already been featured in the original Scarlet & Violet set as well as Obsidian Flames.
The top chase cards from this set are all Special Illustration Rares, with the strikingGroudontopping the charts with a median value of nearly $70. After that is Roaring Moon ex (the Paradox version of Salamence) at a price point of under $60. Elsewhere, cards featuring brilliant artwork, such as the SIR Iron Hands ex and the cards featuring paired artwork for Plusle and Minun by OKACHEKE, can be had for under $20.
6Stellar Crown
Market Price: $147.83
The seventh set released so far during the Scarlet & Violet era was Stellar Crown, which saw the debut of Tera-type Pokemon as well as the unveiling of ‘mon available in The Indigo Disk DLC for the Scarlet & Violet mainline games.
Numerous intriguing chase cards are present in this set, though the top find is the Terapagos ex Special Illustration Rare, which has a market value of roughly $77. Terapagos ex is a notablecompetitive Pokemon TCG powerhousecurrently, so it’s no surprise that this beautiful rare card is the top one in this set.
5Temporal Forces
Market Price: $149.23
Temporal Forces, the fifth expansion set from the Scarlet & Violet era, saw the debut of several important legendary ‘mon from the mainline games – including the Ancient and Future versions of Virizion, Cobalion, Entei, Suicune, and others.
As expected, the Special Illustration Rare versions of those cards are the top chase cards from the set, with Raging Bolt ex (the Ancient Raikou) tipping the scales with a median price point of $93.54. That’s almost $30 more than the next most valuable, which is Iron Crown ex – which happens to be one of thebest Future Pokemon in the TCG.
4Obsidian Flames
Market Price: $156.78
The third set in the Scarlet & Violet Pokemon TCG era is Obsidian Flames, which debuted a new version of one of the most recognizable Pokemon of all time, especially when it comes to the TCG: Charizard.
As expected, this Darkness-type version of Charizard boasts the top two most valuable cards from the set, with the strikingly beautiful (and, frankly, totally badass) Special Illustration Rare topping the value charts with a median price of just over $70. The gold-bordered Hyper Rare version is second with a price point of $26.15.
3Twilight Masquerade
Market Price: $175.15
Following up Temporal Forces as the sixth set from the Scarlet & Violet era is Twilight Masquerade, which debuted cards featuring Pokemon and characters from The Teal Mask DLC in the mainline games.
This set features one of the top chase cards across the entire Scarlet & Violet era of the TCG: the Special Illustration Rare Greninja ex, which has a median market price of just under $320! That beautiful card tops the list, but other chase rares from this set include the SIR Eevee and two Supporter cards with notable characters Carmine and Perrin featured.
2Paldea Evolved
Market Price: $196.52
The second set released in the Scarlet & Violet era of the TCG was Paldea Evolved. This set actually has several impressive hits if you were to crack packs over a year and a half after this set was released, with five impressive chase cards garnering median prices of close to $50 or above.
The top chase card from this set is the beautiful Illustration Rare Magikarp with artwork from Shinji Kanda. This card will set you back over $200 for an ungraded copy, with graded copies skyrocketing in value if they grade out highly. Beyond that, Paldea Evolved features sought-after Illustration Rares of the trainer Iono, Tyranitar, and Raichu.
1Surging Sparks
Market Price: $247.05
The most valuable booster box from the Scarlet & Violet era, by far, was the final one released in 2024: Surging Sparks, featuring a staggering four cards with median price points above $100
This box includes the top chase card across all Scarlet & Violet sets so far, Pikachu ex with a market price of $471.90, so it’s no wonder this booster box clocks in as the most valuable one from this era.
