Summary
Bandai Namcomay havejust released Tales of Graces F Remastered, but it appears that the company may be preparing for another remaster of a game in theTales offranchise. That said, it isn’t the Tales game you’re thinking of.
As first spotted on Reddit’s Gaming Leaks And Rumours subreddit, anew trademark has been filedfor Tales of the Abyss.Per the trademark website, the application was filed on January 16 and finalized on January 24.
Originally,Tales of the Abyss launched on the PlayStation 2 back in 2005. It was made in celebration of the franchise’s 10-year anniversary, andit was eventually ported to the Nintendo 3DS in 2011. Italso received a 26-episode anime series.
Previously,a remaster of Tales of Xillia leaked online last July. A European retailer had box art online, and the EAN code was found to be directly registered to Bandai Namco of Europe. Either way, news of another Tales of game getting remastered shouldn’t be all too surprising, as Bandai Namco has committed to modernizing the franchise.
More Tales Games Will Come To Modern Hardware
At the end of last year, series producer Yusuke Tomizawa shared that more remasters are coming and that a “dedicated” development team for remasters had been established. Specifically, Bandai Namco would “provide [remastered Tales of titles] fairly consistently,” moving forward.
To this point, beyond Tales of F Remaster, both Tales of VesperiaandTales of Symphoniahave received the remaster treatment in recent years. In total, that’s three classic Tales of on modern hardware to go along with the already backwards compatibleTales of ZesteriaandTales of Berseria, plusTales of Arise, which was released in 2021. In other words, Tales fans have been eating good.
