By this time next week,Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,Rocksteady’sdivisive live-service looter shooter, will have completed its Season 1 roadmap. On Friday, Rocksteady announced that Deathstroke,who had been previously leaked via hackers, would be officially joining the roster beginning on Dec. 10.
Deathstroke will join a DLC rosterthat also included Mrs. Freeze, the female counterpart of Mr. Freeze,an alternate world version of The Joker, and Lawless, the daughter of Deadshot.To this point, none of the DLC characters have been well-received by the larger community, largely due to their origins.
That said, Deadshot’s addition brings to an end the full roadmap that Rocksteady had promised when the game initially launched back in February. As for further support for the game, well, that’s a mixed bag.That’s because a Warner Bros. spokesperson told IGN, “We are not yet discussing anything that is not announced,” which isn’t necessarily a good indicator for future DLC.
Owing to the game’s massive discounts digitally, Suicide Squadexperienced a massive spike in players, according to the data housed at SteamDB. It’s unclear whether the addition of Deathstroke will be enough to keep those players engaged, or attract lapsed fans.
What About The Offline Mode?
Oddly absent from Friday’s announcement was the previously announced offline mode for the game. Currently, the game requires an internet connection to play,meaning any sort of server disconnect or shutdown will render the game meaningless, akinto what The Crew experienced.
However,despite being promised by Rocksteady themselves, the offline mode still has yet to make its way into the game. Originally, it was slated to arrive before the end of the year,though with only a couple dozen days separating 2024 from 2025, it remains to be seen if that promise will be kept.
