Over the holidays,TheGamer reported how the likes of Black FriezaandGT Vegeta have all been added to the game, courtesy of mods. No,Vegeta’s mustache didn’t make the cut. Oh, andthere were also some space maps added.
That said, a new mod has managed to add one of the franchise’s most infamous fusions into the fold. The cursed creation that is Cell (Krillin Absorbed.)
OG Fans Will Remember This One
As listed over on Nexus Mods, asite dedicated to housing mods for all sorts of games, BlueLoobster has managed to add Cell (Krillin Absorbed) into the game. It counts as a separate transformation slot, and is as glorious as it is cursed.
Longtime Dragon Ball video game fans may recall that this particular mod is a throwback to where the series originally started, Dragon Ball Budokai. In this “What-If” scenario, Krillin sacrifices himself to be absorbed by Cell instead of Android 18. And so, instead of becoming Perfect Cell, he reverts into essentially a Cell Jr.
As it turns out, it was all just a bad dream by Cell during the waiting period before the start of the Cell Games. Bad dream or not,it was one of the many goofy transformations and fusions that the original series was known for, and now it’s been made possible in Sparking Zero, AKA the spiritual successor to it all. In many ways, as cursed as the transformation is, it’s almost a full-circle moment for longtime fans.
