Transformershave been popular across toys, television, and movies since the 1980s, but there have been moments in time when that popularity has peaked. The past few months have felt like one of those moments, partly because the very well-received Transformers One has kicked off a new era for the Cybertonians, but also because Autobots and Decepticons have been teaming up with some very unexpected IPs.
The latest crossover toys to hit the Transformers expansive action figure collection may well be the most surprising crossover we have seen so far, and that’s really saying something considering some of the other collabs we’ve seen lately. It’s not official yet, although it has been heavily teased, but the first images of twoSonic the Hedgehogx Transformers action figures have leaked online.
An official tease came viathe Transformers Instagram accountwhich shared a video of the Transformers logo spinning to become a Sonic ring. It even includes the sound effect Sonic’s rings make when collected, and the backdrop is modeled after the iconic brickwork from Green Hill Zone. Transformers has promised an official reveal is coming at some point today, but for those who can’t wait, images of Sonic and Tails' Transformers figures have been leaked and can be found below.

DiscussingFilmappears to be one of, if not the first account to have shared the leaked image of the Sonic x Transformers action figures. I’m assuming the Blue Blur and his fox sidekick are Autobots, and each of the figures can transform into vehicles synonymous with each character. The Sonic Transformer can turn into the Speed Star fromTeam Sonic Racing, and Tails transforms into his Tornado plane which he has been using to get Sonic out of tight spots since 1992’s Sonic 2.
Sonic Stadiumhas provided some additional details on the soon-to-be-revealed figures since they appear to be the same ones that were previously rumored. The Sonic Transformer has a shield made out of a ring, and Tails' weapon is a blaster that becomes a thruster when the Autobot turns back into the Tornado. Hopefully the full official reveal later today will provide more information such as prices and release dates.
Sonic and Tails will add to a range of Transformers crossover figures revealed in 2024 that includes Godzilla andRathalos from Monster Hunter. The Ratahalos figure combines the Monster Hunter monster’s design with Optimus Prime, whileGodzilla has turned to the Transformers dark side and combined his powers with Megatron’s.
