Summary
There was always going to be a gap Sega needed to feel betweenSonic x Shadow GenerationsandSonic the Hedgehog 3, but it has been filling it well. Constant reminders to keep even the most casual Sonic fans engaged, and next on the menu with less than a month to go until the threequel hits theaters is a collaboration with Reebok that includes sneakers themed after Sonic and his two best friends.
Reebok revealed its official Sonic the Hedgehog 3 collaboration collection today, confirming that all four pairs in the range will be available to buy through its online storestarting from 1 pm EST on July 22, 2025. All four of the designs are reskinned versions of pre-existing Reebok sneaker varieties with options for both adult and child Sonic fans available.
The Blue Blur himself has two designs in the collection with a pair each for Tails and Knuckles rounding things out. The Sonic Floatzig 1’s are the same shade of blue as the speedy hedgehog with red and white soles reminiscent of the color scheme on the shoes Sonic has been synonymous with throughout his lengthy video game run. The best part of all is the little detail on the back of the Floatzig 1’s - a shiny gold ring hanging from the tag.
While you might be able to see the rings on the back of Sonic’s new sneakers, the characters they share a virtual world with probably can’t. The Sonic Generations remaster further solidified the belief thatrings aren’t canon in the game’s universemeaning the characters can’t actually see them.
Sonic, Tails, And Knuckles Sneakers Are Coming To The Reebok
The Whole Collection Speed Onto Its Online Store December 6
Even though Tails and Knuckles' sneakers are modeled after different Reebok designs, they too have fun little details on the back of them. Tails' Step N' Flash sneakers, which will be available in kids' sizes, have two little tails on the back just like the ones Sonic’s sidekicks uses to fly. The Knuckles Club C Revenge sneakers have two spikes on either side of where you can find the ring on Sonic’s Reeboks that are an homage to the spikes on Knuckles' fists.
Sonic’s Floatzig 1’s will be $140when released on December 6, while the Knuckles' suede sneakerswill be significantly cheaper at $100. All of the children’s sneakers, including the Tails design and the smaller versions of Sonic and Knuckles' trainers, will be between $60 and $65.
I’ve seen a few people complaining that this collection doesn’t include a design modeled after Sonic’s shoes, and even some questioning why that has never been done before. It has been done, relatively recently in fact.Fila sold sneakers modeled after Sonic’s in 2022and they sold out almost immediately.
