It seems that’s the train of thought that Paramount is on as well as, literally one day before Sonic 3 comes out, it’s been confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is already in development. Not only that, but it’s also got a release window of Spring 2027, meaning we’re not that far away from seeing what comes next.

Beyond that, Paramount is keeping extremely tight-lipped about Sonic 4 and what it might entail. Jeff Fowler has worked on all three movies so far and seems to be on a Sonic winning streak, so it’s likely that he’ll return for another movie even if that hasn’t been confirmed yet. The real question is whether Keanu Reeves' Shadow and Jim Carrey’s Eggman will end up appearing in the sequel as well.

Considering how big of a deal Keanu and Shadow have been for Sonic 3, it seems likely that he’ll show up in some capacity.Reeves seemed to have a lot of fun with the role as well.
