Norman Reedus, known for playing Daryl Dixon inThe Walking Dead, has a bizarre history with theSilent Hillseries. Travis Grady was initially modelled after Reedus in a cancelled version of Origins, and Reedus was later set to star as the lead in Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills. However, that too was cancelled.
The only time Reedus has appeared in the series proper is the digital exclusive P.T. demo…which was delisted, making it near impossible to play today. He’s had a string of bad luck with the series, to put it lightly, never making it into one of the games.
Silent Hills did lead to Reedus playing Sam Porter inDeath Stranding, which he says he’s thankful for.
However, Reedus did appear in Silent Hill way back in 2003 as a blurry bit of set dressing. You might have heard of this trivia before, but thanks to Reddit user Cactus-Farmer, it’s making the rounds again among fans who are venturing back to that foggy town in liue ofthe new remake.

On a shelf full of magazines, you can find a cover featuring James Marsden, Lena Headey, and Norman Reedus. It’s from the 2000 psychological thriller Gossip, a movie dripping Y2K. Perfect for Silent Hill 3.
Because Reedus is on the cover, he technically appeared in a mainline Silent Hill game. Which also means Reedus exists in the Silent Hill world as himself. It’s not nearly as substantial as him playing the leading role in his own game, but hey, after two cancellations and a delisted digital demo, it’s something.
