Summary
Shadow of the ColossusandThe Last Guardiancreator genDESIGN has shared a very brief trailer for its next title, tentatively titled Project Robot. It was a very mysterious little trailer, as a person climbed up a large mech which appeared to look like the third Colossus from Shadow of the Colossus, Gaius The Knight.
Our presumed protagonist then jumps into the mech’s head, which detaches from the main body before a wave of light washes over both of them. That’s all we got from the trailer, and we didn’t get a release date, which suggests that we’re going to be waiting for a long time before we actually get this game in our hands.
The Game Award Reveals Shadow Of The Colossus Developer’s Next Title
We can gauge a few things from the trailer though. It seems as though the mech is at least based off a Colossus, suggesting it could possibly be related to Shadow of the Colossus in some way. We can also see that the clothing of our presumed protagonist also lends strength to that theory, as they appear to be wearing the cape that Wanda wears in that game too. We won’t know for sure until we actually see more of the game.
There’s absolutely no way of telling when that will be, but be probably should have expected something from genDESIGN, what with the last game from the studio launching back in 2016 with The Last Guardian. We don’t know for sure when it’s coming out, and Geoff Keighley did mention that the show would showcase some games launching in 2025 and beyond, so we may be in for a lengthy wait.
The Game Awards was a banger of a show this year, featuring some truly massive announcements. On top of a new game from the Shadow of the Colossus creators, we also gota first trailer for The Witcher 4, which confirmed that Ciri will be the game’s protagonist. We also gota new game from FromSoftware called Elden Ring: Nightreign, as well asa cool-looking Ninja Gaiden game from the developers of Blasphemous.
