Summary
An eagle-eyed and incredibly creativeResident Evilfan has managed to figure out how each of the zombies inResident Evil 2’s remakegot infected.
Considering what a rough position Resident Evil was in less than a decade ago, it’s wild to think how far the series has come since. That’s mostly thanks to two games -Resident Evil 7and the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2.Both games showed that Capcom had re-learned what makes Resi so special, even though both pursued from (literally) different perspectives.
One of the main things thatmakes Resident Evil 2’s remake so special in particular is its surprising attention to detail. From the strangely realistic-looking burgers to the sights and sounds of Raccoon City, Resi 2’s remake is an incredibly crafted game, and one that fans are still pouring over to this day.
Here’s (Probably) How Each Zombie Got Infected In Resident Evil 2
A perfect example of this comes from Twitter user Resident_bio, who highlighted something I’d never even noticed in all my years playing Resident Evil 2 - each zombie has a distinct bite or scratch mark that shows how they got infected. Considering I’ve spent most of my time in the game running, screaming, and shooting, I’d never realised that was the case.
That wasn’t all that Resident_bio did, however, as they’ve taken that surprising information and come up with a bunch of solid theories as to how each zombie model in the game became infected.Take one of the game’s most well-known zombies, “Misty”, who is shown without any bite marks on her body but has scratches, suggesting that’s how she joined the walking dead.
While some of the zombies have pretty obvious bite marks that indicate how they were infected, Resident_bio highlights some more interesting cases, like one poor Raccoon City resident who got their throat ripped out. Even though that would usually kill most people, bio points out that the bite isn’t that deep, meaning the virus is probably keeping her alive. Thanks, I guess?
The thread is full of examples like this that range from bite marks to the zombies being infected with the T-Virusthrough infected water. The fact that fans can come up with so many theories goes to show how deep Resident Evil 2’s remake went.
