Summary
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6sees the series take a few interesting turns with the formula. There is a lot of what you might expect from the almost comically popular andpersistent line of games, but the 2024 entry has some fresh innovations the campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies mode.
With this in mind, there are some clever tactics not every player might know. If you already know about the tips below, then you can consider yourself an expert Call of Duty player. If you didn’t, you can jump into your next multiplayer match or go through the campaign with new tricks up your sleeve.
7Activate The Shutters In The Skyline Map
Change The Map A Little Bit
The Skyline multiplayer maptakes place at the top of a luxurious skyscraper. There is a fancy bar, a lavish pool, and a ventilation duct to crawl through. Less obvious is the computer system you can interact with. Walk up to it and you will receive a prompt to activate or de-activate the security system.
It either lowers or raises the secutiry shutters. With them open, you can get some shots at enemies passing by below. This level in particular feels like it has no safe spot from snipers. Raising the shutters gives long-range shooters yet another vantage point.
6Plan Upgrades In Zombies To Save Ammunition
Every Bullet Counts
Ammunition might not seem like a big deal in Zombies, but it becomes more important as enemies become more resistant. Not only that, but refilling ammo is more expensive the more you upgrade that particular weapon. Right from the start, you’re going to want to do all you can to save ammo.
Melee kill weak enemies and go for headshots. This is too dangerous to do in later waves, but you may still save money by upgrading your weapon only once you are out or low on ammo. When you purchase the upgrade, you also refill your ammunition, saving thousands of points in the process.
The same goes for the max ammo pickup some zombies drop. They disappear after a while, but ensure to use up your ammo before picking it.
5Aim In 360 Degrees While Prone
Shoot While On Your Back
Omnimovement is the big addition to the core gameplay. Unlike wallrunning and double jumping of previous games, omnimovement feels more natural and organically implemented. You take advantage of it without even realizing it, making you feel like it has always been a part of the game. What is less obvious about this mechanic is the ability to aim a full 360 degrees while prone.
This not only comes in handy in a bind, but it’s a great way to lie in wait for enemies in multiplayer. It’s as if the average Call of Duty player isn’t used to seeing live players on their back, so it doesn’t even register to shoot them right away like it would in a classic prone position. If you play multiplayer long enough, you’ll see plenty of players camp on their back or side instead of on their stomachs.
4Save Friends From Executions
If The Animation Is In Effect, You Still Have Time
The execution animations are long and satisfying for those who can pull one off. However, they also make you extremely vulnerable. If you see a teammate fall victim to one of these up-close-and-personal eliminations, don’t fret.
As long as the animation is still happening, you have an opportunity to save them. Shoot the enemy player before the animation ends and your teammate will live through the ordeal and you will have an extra elimination under your belt.
You need to be extra careful in Hardcore, where friendly fire is active.
3Pick Up Bodies In Single-Player
Hide The Evidence
Several missions involve stealth. Many of these segments won’t trigger a game over if you are discovered, but it is still rewarding to do them without entering an alarm state. Enemies are smart here, though, and they’ll know something is amiss if they see a comrade unconscious or dead.
Fortunately, you may pick up bodies and move them out of other guards' patrol routes. Even more, you can stuff them in lockers just like in Metal Gear Solid 2. This tactic and the ability to mark enemies with the Spy Cam make stealth more manageable than other stealth segments in games.
2Take Hostages In Multiplayer
Make Them Human Shields
Taking hostages is nothing new to Call of Duty or FPS games in general. However, in Black Ops 6, you can do this in multiplayer, adding a new layer to the chaotic action. In default controls, double click the right stick on controllers or hit V twice on keyboards to take an unsuspecting enemy hostage.
This gives you more health as the human shield absorbs bullets. It’s a hard tactic to pull off, but the few extra shots you’re able to take as a result might be invaluable in a firefight, especially in a game where just a few hits means death.
1The Easiest Way To Destroy Scud Missiles In Single-Player
Let An Airstrike Do The Hard Work
The Hunting Season mission tasks you with destroying three Scud missiles before assauling Saddam Hussein’s palace with the British army. Along the way you can also accomplish numerous other objectives. One of the bonus objectives grants you an airstrike you can call in that recharges on a cool down. You directly control this missile as it falls from the sky. Once you have access to this, each Scud missile launcher is easy to take out from afar.
Just pinpoint its location with the Spy Cam or at least get an approximate feel for where it is. Then, call in the missile and easily direct it to the Scud launcher to take it out in one fell swoop. You won’t even trigger an alert since the guards still have no idea where you are.
