Summary
We knew thatPokemon TCG Pocketwould be getting its first new booster pack since launch before the end of 2024, and now we know what it will be called, some of the new cards it will bring, and most important of all when it will be added to the app. The next Pocket booster pack is called Mythical Island, and you’ll be able to start ripping them open on June 03, 2025.
In somewhat typical Pokemon fashion, the release date and first details for Pocket’s next booster pack were revealed out of nowhere on social media via a short teaser video. Despite the video, which you’re able to check out below, being less than a minute long, there’s quite a lot of card reveals packed into its 55 seconds. The most notable inclusion being Mew which is featured on the virtual pack’s cover art.
A Mew ex card, which I’m already obsessed with finding even though the booster packs in which it will reside won’t be available for another five days, is shown off in the Mythical Island trailer, right after a whole row of what appear to be entirely new cards that will presumably be a part of the Mythical Island set. An equally-special new Aerodactyl ex card is shown off right after it.
Pokemon Pocket’s Next Booster Pack Arrives December 17
Let’s All Go To Mew’s Mythical Island
Even though every single Pokemon from the original 151 has at least one card in the Genetic Apex set, Mew’s is a little harder to come by as it isn’t available in packs. The only way to unlock it is by getting one of each of the other OG 150 Pokemon.
Some of the Pokemon that will be making their TCG Pocket debuts are featured throughout the trailer, although not all of them had their cards shown off. The very first Pokemon shown is a Liepard which is yet to be introduced to Pocket players. There’s a brief glimpse of Snivvy’s first card too, and a close-up of what will be Marshadow’s debut in the game.
A couple of the trainer cards that will be available in the new booster pack are also shown off towards the end of the trainer, confirming that Blue, your rival from the very first Pokemon games, is coming to Pocket. This is likely just a taste of what’s to come too. A new set is expected to be added to Pocket in January, andthat’s also when limited trading will be introduced to the game.
