Summary
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’sMythical Island has added a bunch of new cards thatserve to shake up the meta, which fans havealready suggested is going stale. The likes of Mew ex, Aerodactyl ex, and Tauros are prime examples of the cards set to help keep the game fresh.
However, while there’s a little of something to enhance almost every deck type within the game, Steel- and Dragon-type deck builders have been left disappointed with the lack of cards added for their typings.
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Adds One Dragon-Type, No Steel-Type Cards In Mythical Island Expansion
Most deck typings got some major enhancements this time around:
It’s a relative feast for deck builders. Unless you want to build a deck with Steel- or Dragon-type cards, that is.
Steel decks, which aren’t particularly common in the battling meta, arebuilt around Meltan and Melmetal. The decks are fine, but without further reinforcement, they are likely to flounder. Unfortunately, with no additional Steel-type cards added in Mythical Island, that looks set to be the case.
Dragon-typedecks are slightly different. With no specialized Dragon-type energy, they tend to be part of a hybrid deck—Dragonite is the perfect example of this. Much like Steel-type fans, though, Dragon-type users are out of luck as only a new Drudiggon card was added, and it is not great.
With these two types left in the dark, it will be interesting to see if things are course-corrected with the next expansion.
