Summary

Pokemon provideda first look at its next Squishmallowsearlier this month, revealingEevee and Chanseywould be the next to get its highest plush honor. There’s no telling how long it will be between reveal and release, but clearly, when it comes to Eevee and Chansey, Pokemon was eager to get its new Squishmallows out into the wild as the new plush pair is already available to buy.

After leaping forward to Gen 9 for the Squishmallows that came before these latest additions -Fuecoco and Bellibolt- Pokemon has returned to Kanto and turned a couple of its ‘mons from the original 151 for its holiday 2024 Squishmallow drop. When in doubt, return to Gen 1, particularly if you’re able to get Eevee involved. Their arrival brings Pokemon’s Squishmallow total up to 14, but only 13 different Pokemon as Pikachu already has two Squishmallow designs.

Pokemon’s Squishmallows are always made available through the Pokemon Center before getting a wider release at third-party retailers. There’s a little more to it than that, though. The Squishmallows you buy through the Pokemon Center technically can’t be bought anywhere else. They’re 12 inches tallwhereas similar Squishmallows will either be bigger or smaller, and they’rethe only ones that have a Pokemon Center logo embroidered onto them.

That applies to the new Eevee and Chansey Squishmallows, of course, and the best news of all is the standard price for Squishmallows bought from the Pokemon Center remains intact. You know there will be a day when it jumps up, but today is not that day.Chansey and Eevee’s Squishmallows are $29.99 eachand you may pre-order both of them through the links in the boxes below now.

Even though the listings have gone live in time for the holidays, the Squishmallows will not ship until January. Do not buy them as holiday gifts unless you’re picking them up for some very patient and understanding Pokemon fans.

Eevee Squishmallow.

Eevee Squishmallow

It was only a matter of time before Eevee, one of the most popular Pokemon of all time, got turned into a Squishmallow. Eevee’s Squishmallow is round and squishy, naturally, and has pointy ears sewn onto its head, and a white fleece ruff wrapped around its middle.

Chansey Squishmallow

Chansey has become a part of the Pokemon Squishmallow family. A soft, pink, egg-shaped Pokemon, it was really only a matter of time. The plush has Chansey’s wing-type appendages sewn onto its sides and a little egg pouch attached to its tummy, just like in the games and the anime.

Eevee and Chansey aren’t the first Squishmallows to have extras incorporated into their designs to make them look more like the Pokemon on which they’re based, but I’d certainly argue they’re up there with some of the best suited to being Squishmallows in the Pokemon collection so far. Eevee’s squishy new plush has pointy ears and fleece material around its middle to represent its ruff, and Chansey has a little egg pouch sticking out of its tummy. It would have been easy to just embroider that on, so I appreciate the additional effort.
