Summary
Pokemonrevealed its next two Funko Pops last week, confirmingthat Fidough and Dratini now have figuresfor the first time. It turns out there was a part two to that reveal as even though it isn’t available yet,Gardevoir is also joining the Funko Pop family, the third figure in the two-part reveal shown off just hours after Dratini and Fidough’s first pieces found their way online.
The first image of the upcoming Gardevoir Pop was shared over the weekendby Funko Pop Newsand other Funko fan accounts. No concrete information on when exactly it will be available or how much it’s going to cost, and nothing about Gardevoir’s Pop possibly being bigger than the standard-sized figures.
Sometimes when a Pop is revealed by itself, and slightly after other figures have been revealed, there’s something different or special about it. It might be a Jumbo Pop, or it could just mean it will be sold exclusively through one particular retailer. Neither of those appears to apply to Gardevoir. Perhaps Funko and Pokemon are just acutely aware that Gardevoir holds a special enough place in many fans' hearts to warrant a reveal of its own.
Gardevoir Is Getting A Funko Pop
Everyone, Please, Remain Calm
Since Gardevoir is a bipedal, human-like Pokemon with feminine qualities, there are some fans out there who might like it a little too much. So much so that Gardevoir rather unfairly now has a stigma attached to it. If you tell someone your favorite Pokemon is Gardevoir, you’re going to get judged, even if they’re your favorite for normal Pokemon reasons and not weirder, more nefarious ones.
Whether you love Gardevoir for its move set or something else, its debut Funko Popshould start to appear on Amazon and other stores sometime this week, likely on Wednesday. That’s when the Dratini and Fidough figures were expected to be released too, but turns out the former was ready to go by the weekend and you’re able to buy it through the link in the box below right now.
Dratini Funko Pop
Dratini has been given the Funko Pop treatment. Joining Pokemon’s growing Funko Pop collection, the Dragon-type’s figure has its tail curled and flicked up behind it, appearing as it does in the games and the anime.
This week is a big one for Pokemon. Pokemon TCG Pocket’s first big expansion drops this Thursday as its second set,Space-Time Smackdown will be rolled out on the app. On Wednesday, trading goes live in-game too, allowing you to trade cards of equal rarity up to one star with friends.
