Amazon UK very briefly updated itsPokemon Legends Z-Alisting to include a release date of August 15, before quickly updating it to the standard placeholder, December 31.
It’s possible that the release date was uploaded instead of the placeholder by mistake, or August 15 could be a completely random, irrelevant date.
Could Legends Z-A Coincide With The Switch 2 Launch?
WhenNintendo finally confirmed that the Switch 2 exists, it also revealed that a proper announcement would arrive “within fiscal year”, ie sometime before April.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa then stated that the sales forecast for this fiscal year does not include the Switch 2, meaning thatit will likely launch after April, perhaps in the summer. If so, Legends Z-A’s launch may coincide with the new console.
That would give the Switch 2 a Pokemon launch title, something that many have speculated about due to the language used in its reveal; it’s coming to “Nintendo Switch systems”, plural. That could mean OLED, lite, and standard, or it could mean that the game is cross-gen.
We’ll most likely find out more on February 27 during the Pokemon Day celebrations, namely the Pokemon Presents (which was confirmed in aPokemon Goupdate, as datamined by@mattyoukhana_).
What Do We Know About Pokemon Legends Z-A?
With the game right around the corner, let’s look at what we know so far.It’s set entirely within Lumiose City, and Game Freak might have accidentally leaked the starters —Chespin, Froaki, and Fennekin, ie the same starters as Pokemon X & Y.
These haven’t been confirmed yet, so take this with a grain of salt.
Regarding the story, all we know at the moment is that “an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokemon”. Hopefully, we’ll get more insight into what exactly that means next month.
