Summary

There has never really been a time where thePokemon TCGhas gone out of fashion, but lately its popularity has been soaring to heights that might even surpass that of the late 1990s. The rate at which pre-orders for the Prismatic Evolutions set, which releases this week, have been snapped up is the best evidence of that to date, and The Pokemon Company has stepped in to reassure those who will be empty-handed when the expansion drops that more stock is on the way.

Prismatic Evolutions stock is completely sold out at the Pokemon Center, and if your local TCG suppliers had any stock to begin with, then it’s almost certainly all gone. With many TCG players understandably worried that there isn’t going to be enough stock of the new set to go around, The Pokemon Company has issued a statement to TheGamer confirming there’s more on the way, and a lot of it.

We are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokemon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to acknowledge this. Reprinted products are expected to be available at participating retailers as soon as possible.

The statement is a little vague, declining to reveal how much more stock there will be and more importantly when exactly it will be available, but even The Pokemon Company might not know those specifics at this point. Just confirmation that more Prismatic Evolutions stock is coming, and that it is seemingly being printed en masse, is the best news those who haven’t managed to bag any yet could have hoped for at this stage.

Pokemon Is Working On Getting As Much Prismatic Evolutions Stock Out There As Possible

Just Sit Tight, There’s More On The Way

The statement also notes that there will be more Prismatic Evolutions items added to those already revealed available in the coming months. What exactly those items will be hasn’t been clarified, but hopefully, they will be printed in far greater numbers than the initial batch of stock so players don’t suffer the same issues they’ve suffered so far.

Unfortunately, the realization that the supply of new Pokemon TCG expansions isn’t meeting demand didn’t hit soon enough for something to be done about the next set to come after Prismatic Evolutions, Journey Together. Releasing this March,Journey Together’s first wave of products went up for pre-orderexclusively at the Pokemon Center last week, selling out almost instantly. Since then, its Elite Trainer Boxes have beenlisted on resale sites for as much as $500 eachdespite having an RRP of $59.99.
