The Pulse Explores are PlayStation’s first crack at earbuds and they’ve proved to be very popular in the first year since they were released. Finding them in stock after their launch was easier said than done, a trend that continued well into 2024 as the accessory was still being snatched up everywhere they got restocked whenPlayStation gave them their first updateat the end of January.

PlayStation has likely discounted the earbuds for Black Friday since demand for them isn’t quite as high as it was last year. That’s evident as at the time of writing this, the Pulse Explore Earbuds are still in stock at PlayStation Direct whereas even at full price, they’d have sold out immediately this time last year.$30 has been knocked off their usual $199.99 price tag, so not a huge cut, but still almost certainly enough to see them sell out well before Black Friday.
Even though the earbuds are compatible with the PS5, it does feel like the accessory was made with the PlayStation Portal in mind. They were released around the same time at the end of 2023 after all. The earbuds are equipped with AI-enhanced noise-canceling technology and between the buds and the case they have up to 15 hours of battery life.
PlayStation Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds
PlayStation’s first set of earbuds are the Pulse Explore Wireless earbuds. Coming with a carry case and equipped with AI-enhanced noise rejection technology, the earbuds are also equipped with mics so you may communicate with other people while playing online.
As for the Portal, unfortunately, that’s one of the few PS5 accessories not included in PlayStation’s Black Friday sale. Despite the critique it received at launch, PlayStation has had no issues selling the Portal. Its sales will likely spike over the holidays too, not just where people are buying them as gifts, but also becausePlayStation recently rolled out an updatethat lets you play select games on the Portal without it needing to be tethered to a PS5.
