PlayStation revealed what has turned out to bea very popular 30th anniversary collectionin September, opening pre-orders shortly after and then releasing the range in November. Select items in the collection have been getting sporadically restocked here and there since release day, and this week, it’s Best Buy’s turn. You’ll need to jump through a couple of hoops if you want to get your hands on what it has left, though.
Best Buy confirmed on Sunday thatit will be restocking the slim PS5 and matching DualSensefrom the 30th anniversary range. However, if you want to benefit from the restock,you’ll need to download Best Buy Drops. Drops is an app Best Buy uses, usually for highly sought-after items, that sends users a notification when something they want is back in stock.
On the plus side, that means no constantly refreshing a web page waiting, and in some cases hoping, the item you’re after gets restocked. On the downside, it means downloading and signing up to a new app. It’s another way of cutting down on scalpers getting their hands on items in this collection which, considering how quickly everything sells out minutes after it has been restocked, they will inevitably do and then sell for inflated prices on resale sites.

You’ll Need The Drops App If You Want It, Though
The initial message from Best Buy noted that the restocks would happen on December 2. However,the store pages on Best Buy’s website now read December 3. That might mean the restock has been moved back a day, or, more likely, it means the stock is being dropped in batches and the December 2 PS5s and controllers have already sold out. If you are still after something from PlayStation’s anniversary range, trying your luck with Drops is currently the best way to try and make that happen.
If you head to the Best Buy links for the items in the boxes below, there’s an option you can click that will take you to the app store to download Drops if you’re reading this on your phone. Once downloaded,you can opt-in for notifications on whichever items it is you’d like to know aboutwhen a restock drops. Best Buy has been purposefully vague about when exactly the two items will be back in stock because well, letting people know ahead of time would defeat the purpose of doing this via the Drops app.
PS5 Digital 30th Anniversary Bundle
Part of the PlayStation 30th anniversary collection, the digital edition of the PS5 has been given a grey makeover to make it look more like PlayStation’s original console. The bundle includes the console, a matching DualSense controller, and a grey disc drive cover should you need it.

PlayStation has given its DualSense controller, along with some other things, a retro makeover to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its first console release. The DualSense is PS1 grey with the original color scheme restored to its logo and face buttons.
The PS5 and the DualSense are the items that have been restocked the most since release day. However, there are rumorsthe anniversary Portal will be back in stock before the end of this week. It’ll be the first time the accessory has been available since pre-orders went live if that happens.
