Summary

Palworldmay have launched all the way back in January earlier this year, but it’s been soldiering on with regular updates for a while now, despite the best efforts of Nintendothat would rather see the title shut down for good. A lot of focus around Palworld has been on that particular, but that doesn’t mean developer Pocketpair has been sat twiddling its thumbs.

In a new tweet via the official Palworld Twitter account, it’s been announced that a new major update is coming next month, one that will add “the largest, harshest, and most mysterious” new island to the game. On top of that, it was revealed that this island will be around six times larger than the island of Sakurajima, which was added earlier this summer.

Palworld’s Next Major Update Will Add A Massive New Island

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear as though Pocketpair is quite ready to reveal exactly when this massive new island is ready to ship, though we’ll probably get some more details pretty soon if its coming in December. It does give us a few screenshots from the island though, which seems to differ greatly in terms of biome, including a cave full of crystal, and a very bright golden forest.

Outside the whole Nintendo thing, it’s been a pretty good year for Palworld and Pocketpair. While it may have been excluded from the end of year awards shows,it made huge waves back when it launched, becoming one of the year’s biggest surprise packages. Ever since, Pocketpair has been treating fans quite well, with regular updates and new Pals that show no sign of slowing down.

In fact, fans can expect these updates to keep going,as Pocketpair community manager Bucky recently told TheGamerthat the studio has plans to “support the game for a long time”, without even adopting the free-to-play, live service model that so many studios have gone for these days. It’s working a treat for Palworld and Pocketpair, though it still has Nintendo’s lawsuit hanging over its head for the time being.

Palworld

WHERE TO PLAY

Palworld has been described as Pokemon with guns and well, it’s hard to argue with that. The game is very similar in nature to the Pokemon formula, tasking you with catching and working with monsters called Pals. There are key differences, though. Palworld is rooted in multiplayer, oh, and, unlike Pokemon, its Pals have guns.
