Summary 2003’s movie tie-in game Piglet’s Big Game has suddenly gone viral due to its weirdly horrific tone and survival-horror-esque gameplay that basically make it “baby’s firstSilent Hill”. To say that the world oflicensed movie tie-in games is a very weird one would be a massive understatement. While we don’t really get many games based on movies anymore due to how expensive IP can be to adapt, back in the good old days of thePS2,Xbox, andDreamcast, pretty much any developer could nab a game and do what it pleased with it....

Summary Pokemon teamed up with Clarksto create a unique range of shoes themed after some of the former’s creations last year, just in time for the holidays. Exactly one year on from the launch of that collaboration, Pokemon and Clarks are back for more. Four more Pokemon have been given the footwear treatment by Clarks, and all of the new designs are available to buy right now. This time last year, Pokemon launched Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu versions of Clarks' Torhill shoe, the collection rebranded as Torhill Explore just for Pokemon....

Summary Pokemonplushes come in a wide range of different varieties and new designs are added seemingly at random. There’s no way of telling which Pokemon will get the plush treatment next with the exception of the Sitting Cuties range. Pokemon has been turning its creations into Sitting Cuties one generation at a time but has thrown collectors a curve ball today by adding a shiny Rayquaza into the mix. Pokemon kicked off the week by revealing Shiny Rayquaza is coming toScarlet & Violetand will start appearing in five-star Tera raids from June 03, 2025....

Summary TheNintendo Switchwas a revolution for handheld consoles. Not only is it an evolution of past systems like the PSP, DS, and Game Boy, but it can also be docked and used as a traditional home console. This was such a huge step forward, causing an unprecedented boom in the handheld market, inspiring the Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go just to name a few. Xbox is also dipping its toes into handheld for the first time....

EveryMagic: The Gatheringset that comes out has some cards that are just flat-out better than other cards. Oftentimes, they’re just giving a three-mana 2/2 some ability that makes it better than one without an ability. Every now and then, though, you get a powerful card that pushes out other similar cards by a marginal degree. I’m a massive fan of the Digital Eclipse Gold Master series. Without repeating the same thing I say every eight months when one of these comes out, I love that Digital Eclipse collects interviews, ephemera, and historical documents along with games and game prototypes. I love it so much. I love it more than I love the people in my life, who are less reliable. Digital Eclipse may not be the first company to create a living video game museum, but they certainly seem to be the best at it....

The year 2024 saw a ton of new Commander Precons (pre-made decks meant to be played out of the box) forMagic: The Gathering. With a few exceptions, nearly every major set released had a set of Commander decks to go along with them (and usually in batches of four). There were over 20 different Commander decks, each of varying quality but some stand as clear winners above the rest. The strongest Commander decks are ones that stand on their own without outside help....
