Summary

TheNintendo Switch 2was the biggest open secret in the games industry for a little while. Before Nintendo finally unveiled the console earlier today, the system andits Joy-Cons had already leaked online,as well as the date for the eventual shadowdropped trailerandthe third-party games possibly coming to the system. If Nintendo wanted the reveal to be a surprise, it was quite thoroughly ruined.

It makes sense that publishers and developers would want its big announcements kept secret until the big reveal, but Okami and Devil May Cry director Hideki Kamiya seems to have a special kind of hatred for those that leak announcements early, particularly those out there that spoiled the big Nintendo Switch 2 surprise.

Hideki Kamiya Definitely Isn’t A Fan Of The Nintendo Switch 2 Leakers

First spotted by Eurogamer, Kamiyatook to Twittershortly after the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal to express his anger at those that spoiled the announcement ahead of time. He even goes so far as to hope that these particular individuals are “cursed for the rest of their lives”, and that he hopes they “always have poop on the soles of their shoes when they get home”.

“What they do is nothing more than an expression of a filthy desire for approval that lacks a shred of rationality; they are shameful people.”

He then goes on to call leakers “the worst of scum”, and claims that they only do what they do for their “own pleasure and self-satisfaction”. He also referencesthe reveal of Okami 2 at The Game Awards last year, explaining that now he knows what it’s like to have an exciting reveal that wasn’t spoiled, he thinks Nintendo Switch 2 leakers “should be cursed” for not letting other developers have their moments.

In his final angry tweet(yes, he’s still going), Kamiya says that insiders like those behind the Nintendo Switch 2 leaks should be “crushed as soon as possible.” God help us all if one of Kamiya’s games ever leak.
