It’s been a busy year forHello Games, with the English studio releasing no fewer than sixNo Man’s Skyupdates in 2024.Worlds Part 1overhauled the sea and the sky,Aquarius added fishing, and the latest expedition, The Cursed, addedoft-requested spooky vibesto the game. No Man’s Sky Gets 8K Support

As part of The Cursed update, Hello Games sneakily snuck in No Man’s Sky’sPlayStation5 Pro features,which were actually discovered a while back.

Thanks to the PlayStation’s new Spectral Super Resolution, the game will now comfortably run at 4K/60fps. The update will also enable the developers to “ramp up the graphical quality across the board,” improving the lighting with ultra-quality reflections and higher-quality ambient occlusion. This will also be reflected in the PSVR2.

Hello Games also confirmed that No Man’s Sky will be one of the first games to support 8K on the PS5 Pro. So far, only Gran Turismo 7 and F1 2024 have been confirmed tosupport the resolution, but No Man’s Sky is the next to take the plunge.

Cross-Saves Are Also Coming To The Game

Alongside its new PS5 Pro update and 8K support, No Man’s Sky will finally get cross-save functionality. This means players will be able to share their save files across multiple devices.

Despite having a “tiny team,” Hello Games has been testing the feature for the past six months. Cross-saves will function acrossPC,PlayStation 4&Xbox OneandSeries X/S, Game Pass, GOG,Nintendo Switch,Steam Deck,PlayStation VR 1 & 2, and PCVR.

Players will be able to link their accounts throughthis website, and, over the coming weeks, they will be able to take full advantage of the feature.

Mass Effect’s Normandy Is Back

For thefirst time since 2021, No Man’s Sky is adding Mass Effect’s SSV Normandy SR-1.

The iconic ship from BioWare’s franchise will be available as part of a limited-time expedition, with Hello Games sharing a desire to bring it back with the influx of new players the game has.

How you survive is up to you. Assemble entire fleets of dreadnought-class freighters and tear across the universe; build sprawling habitable bases across planet surfaces, beneath the ground or under the ocean; buy and upgrade your own weapons and star ships and do battle with outlaw space pirates, hostile alien fauna or the mysterious sentinel fleets.
