The Game Awards always has a ton of reveals and new trailers up its sleeve, but 2024 (the show’s 10th anniversary) has had a lot more excitement than usual,with insiders promising some surprising reveals. As we now know, that was indeed the case, as there was plenty of big moments. One such moment kicked off the show with the reveal of a new Ninja Gaiden.
The Game Awards Reveals A New Ninja Gaiden
Before The Game Awards 2024 even properly kicked off, Geoff surprised us all with a big announcement - Ninja Gaiden is finally back! The Game Kitchen is teaming up with Koei Tecmo for a 2D side-scrolling platformer that looks to capture the style of the game but in a 2D setting. We only saw a brief bit of gameplay, but it’s definitely a big moment for fans.
An exact release window wasn’t given for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, but we do know that it’s planning on being launched in Summer 2025. A description for the game also revealed that Ryu will koin forces with a brand-new ninja called Kenji Mozu, which explains the younger looking protagonist.
Of course, while this and the show’s many other reveals were exciting moments to be sure, that’s not the only reason we’re all tuning in. As the name implies, we’re also going to find out the grand winner of Game of the Year, which is a close battle betweenAstro Bot, Balatro, Metaphor ReFantazio, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and Black Myth: Wukong.
