Summary

After years of speculation and rumours,Naughty Doghas finally announced its next game atThe Game Awards 2024- Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Although there’salwaysa lot of curiosity and guesswork involved when it comes to trying to figure out what a renowned game studio is working on next, one developer stands above them all when it comes to that speculation. I am, of course, talking about Naughty Dog, the developers behindCrash Bandicoot,Jak and Daxter,Uncharted, andThe Last of Us.

Ever since the release ofThe Last of Us Part 2, we’ve known that Naughty Dog is working on a new game, but we’ve heard literally nothing about it.There have been a lot of rumours that suggest it has a fantasy themeand is moreopen-ended than what the studio has made before, but that’s basically all that’s been spread. Up until now, that is.

Naughty Dog Has Finally Revealed Its Next Game

As one of the biggest announcements at The Game Awards, Naughty Dog finally pulled the curtain back on its next project, which is a space-themed game called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The trailer ended the show with a final world premiere and confirmed a space theme instead of the fantasy theme we all expected. It seems the story will revolve around the Five Aces, a mysterious organisation.

While it is a very nice surprise to see Naughty Dog finally give us some more details about its next project, it’s not the most shocking thing in the world. The big dawgs have been working on a new game ever since The Last of Us Part 2 finished development in 2020, so it was getting to be about time for them to show it off to the world.

For those wondering where the heck The Last of Us Part 3 is,Neil Druckmann basically confirmed that it’s coming eventually, but when they have the right story for it.

While we’re still going to have to wait a little while longer to find out more about Intergalactic, we can at least rest knowing that it’s in a far-along enough place for Naughty Dog to have shown it off. No release date has been announced for now.
