Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024fans were left disappointed at the game’s lunch due to server issues. Most players complained about being stuck on installation menus, while those that did get through found that a lot of assets were missing from the game. Unfortunately, there was no way around for those who wanted to play on launch day, leading to Overwhelmingly Negative reviews on Steam.

Developer Asobo came out and apologised to fans, and immediately got to work on fixing these issues. This has resulted in the Steam reviews rising up to Mixed, but that won’t change the fact that Flight Sim 2024 is Xbox Game Studios' worst reviews game on the platform. Thankfully, it looks like the team may be in for fair weather, as it has announced that all launch issues have been fixed.

Flight Simulator 2024 Might Finally Have Clear Skies

In adeveloper update, Microsoft Flight Simulator chief Jorg Neumann announced that the issues that plagued the back-end have been resolved, and players should no longer be facing the issues they did at launch.

“We are happy to report that the issues regarding access and streaming have been resolved,” revealed the update. “The distribution layer capacity has been increased to handle the immense interest in the simulator and the reliability is now above 99.999%. Our servers and services are also all performing as expected.”

On November 22, the team released a patch that addressed several stability and user experience issues. Neumann also revealed that two more patches will be released on December 2 and December 9. The first patch will add further stability improvements, while the latter will give players the option to enable or disable content.

A safe boot mode will also deactivate any third party content, many of which were causing issues. Until the devs identify which particular pieces of content have been giving trouble, all MSFS 2020 non-aircraft content will be deactivated.

Hopefully, this means that the bulk of the problems players have been facing have now been fixed, with other minor issues being ironed out by December 9. Considering how fast the game’s review has come up to Mixed, it may soon be in the positive should everything go according to plan.
