That was until Nintendo’s Direct in June of this year, in which the company revealeda brand-new trailer and a 2025 release date.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Appears On Official Metroid Website

As spotted byVasishathover onReddit, Nintendo has seemingly added details for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond to its official website. It was reportedly added at the same time as Metroid: Zero Mission, which is available to play through Nintendo Switch Online.

Appearing afterMetroid Prime RemasteredandMetroid Dread, the Beyond section includes the recent trailer and text that says: “Embark on a new mission coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025.”

Naturally, after being starved for so long, fans of the series havechosen to believe news is coming soon.

Typically,Nintendodoesn’t make major reveals outside of its Direct showcases. However, the company has recently been more lax with that rule, announcing theAlarmo alarm clock, theNintendo Music app, and theXenoblade Chronicles X Switch porton social media in the last couple of months.

Outside of social media,The Game Awardsis a little over three weeks away. Nintendo doesn’t usually have much of a presence at Geoff Keighley’s yearly showcase, so an appearance there is unlikely, but the company has shown things off there in the past, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Most notably, Nintendorevealed both Joker and SephirothforSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateat the event, with the infamous Sephiroth killing Mario fake-outtrailer dropping during the show. Alongside these, Nintendo alsorevealed Bayonetta 3 at 2018’s event.

Here’s hopingMetroidjoins Smash and Bayonetta in bucking the trend.
