MoreMarvel Rivalsdetails have been revealed, outlining what we can expect from its first season at launch. Season 0, as it’s being referred to, will boost the roster up to 33, meaning that alongside the new additions that have already been revealed, there are six more that we don’t know about.
This was all revealed in a new video from Marvel Rivals creative director, Guangyun “Guangguang” Chen. Here, Guangguang suggests that all of the characters will be revealed before the game’s launch on December 6, as the Marvel Rivals social media account focuses on a new character each day.
After the Closed Beta Test, it’s been revealed thatCaptain America, Winter Soldier,Psylocke, andMoon Knightare joining the roster, making up the 33 available by the end of Season 0.
Right now, the account highlights characters that we already know about, like Hulk and Adam Warlock. With this in mind, we should hear about the final six very soon.
Marvel Rivals Creative Director Shares Details On First Two Seasons
Guangguang also reveals that Season 0 will be called Dooms' Rise, and last for the first month after launch. However, all of these 33 characters will be available from launch day. Nine maps will be included in the season too.
Season 0 will be the shortest season, with future seasons lasting three months instead. As expected, new seasons will add new heroes, maps, and game modes.
Beyond the launch season, Season 1 will kick off in early January 2025, adding even more heroes. Given that the launch season is already adding so many, it’s unclear how many more will join for Season 1, and Guangguang isn’t giving us any hints just yet.
We also get some brief details on how the game will be monetised, but there’s no surprise there. Each season will add a new battle pass, full of cosmetics. We’ll also be able to buy cosmetics in the store. Guangguang says there will be no pay-to-win elements.
Marvel Rivals will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It’s set to launch on December 6.
