Summary
Legoreleased more than 140 new sets on New Year’s Day, but despite that, there’s still no official word on when something more from Middle-earth will be turned into toy bricks. That might be changing very soon as a new leak suggestsa set modeled after Bag End will be here in 2025, and judging by the rumored release date, we won’t have long to wait until Lego shows it off.
Even thoughLegohas been creatingThe Lord of the Ringssets for years, their partnership got something of a soft reboot in 2023 when a Rivendell Lego set was released. That was followed bya Barad-dur set in 2024, and if Lego continues its one Lord of the Rings set per year pattern, then it stands to reason there’s something new from its world coming soon.
According to Falconbricks, the pieces for the next Lord of the Rings Lego set are in place, and it will bea recreation of Bag Endfans can build themselves. Details regarding the rumored set are naturally pretty sparse since it hasn’t been officially revealed yet, however, the leak claims that it will be another big oneat 2,017 pieces and be released on July 26, 2025.
Even though a Lego set with that many pieces is big, if the leak is accurate, it will be the smallest Lord of the Rings set of the three released since 2023 by quite some distance. The Rivendell set is 6,167 pieces, and last year’sBarad-dur set is slightly smaller at 5,471. That will mean the Bag End set will almost certainly be considerably cheaper than the other two Lord of the Rings setswhich cost $500 and $460, respectively.
A potential price for the Bag End set wasn’t revealed in the leak, butits piece count suggests it will be around $200. Still expensive, but considerably more affordable than the only Lord of the Rings sets available right now. Everything else from Middle-earth that has been turned into Lego was retired long ago so having something that doesn’t cost as much as a brand-newPS5in the Lord of the Rings collection would be nice.
One of those retired sets includes a previous Lego version of Bag End released more than a decade ago. Images of it might give you an idea of how the new set will look, but 2025’s take on Lego Bag End will almost certainly be more elaborate.
While everyone else slowly powers back up for the new year, Lego has hit the ground running. New Year’s Day is typically the busiest day of the year for Lego, and on top of the 140 new sets it released, it has also madeZelda’s Great Deku Tree set available on Amazonfor the first time. The same goes forFortnite’s debut Lego sets which come with in-game bonuseswhen bought on Amazon.
