As aHonkai: Star Railplayer, you likely already know that the main grind in this game is the relic grind. Whenever you get a new character, you first have to farm for the materials to level them up and upgrade their traces. However, this grind is finite and ends after spending a certain amount of your Trailblazer Power on them.

The same can’t be said for the relic grind, as it can last for an eternity. During the Version 3.0 update, HoYoverse has added a few rare items to make this grind slightly easier, and these come in the form of Wishful Resin and Variable Dice.

How To Get And Use Wishful Resin

Before Version 3.0 update, you only had Self-Modeling Resin to help you with your relic grind, which could let you choose themain stat on your Body, Feet, Planar Sphere, or Link Rope piece. The Wishful Resin goes one step beyond this and lets you chooseone sub-stat for one Wishful Resin and two of them for four.

You can do this by heading over to the synthesis screen from the main menu and then to the tab to the far right at the top. This will show youall the relic and planar ornamentsets currently in the game.Choose the set and the piece you want and then click on “Customized Synthesis"below the relic picture.

You can’t use Self-Modeling or Wishful Resin forHead and Hands pieces.

In the Customized Synthesis, you can choose the main and sub-stats you want, and then click confirm. Therelic you make from this synthesis will keep all your choices intact. You can acquire Wishful Resin by finishing the game’s content, battle pass, or synthesizing it using either 800 Relic Fragments or one Self-Modeling Resin.

How To Get And Use Variable Dice

If you’ve been playing Honkai: Star Rail for a while, you must’ve already been in a situation where you get the perfect relic with themain and the sub-stats you want, but it roles on all the wrong sub-stats. Thankfully, Variable Dice now exists to give you another chance at the same piece.

Once you’ve fully upgraded a piece, you’ll see a reroll option when you go to enhance it. This will essentially redistribute the upgrades among all the sub-stats,which could lead to a better or an even worse relic. After the reroll, you can decide if you want to keep the new stats or not, but the dice will get consumed either way.

You can only get one dicefrom each Nameless Honor, andthat too only if you buy the premium tier.

Other than that, you’re able to alsocraft them by spending a whopping three Self-Modeling Resinfor each.

As you can see, Variable Dice is likely the rarest commodity in the game, and youwouldn’t want to waste it on a piece that has a chance of rolling badly.
