The simplicity ofPokemon Pocket’sdeck building and battling has captured interest in the Pokemon TCG unlike ever before. While the complexity and nuance in the standard Pokemon TCG are conducive to a healthy competitive landscape, building a deck in Pokemon Pocket is much easier and more approachable if you’re still learning the game.
One of the better decks in the game is an Articuno ex deck, though using this deck and employing the strategy required to win is heavily based on luck and coin flips. Misty makes a major appearance here, as the combination she forms with Articuno ex enables usually impossible first-turn wins, provided you’re lucky enough with your Misty coin flips.
What Cards Do You Need For An Articuno ex Deck?
Articunois the crux of this deck andis the only Pokemonyou will be including during your deck building.
While this may seem like an all-or-nothing strategy (and it is), you’re guaranteed to get an Articuno to start, asyou will always be given at least one basic Pokemon in your starting hand.
Since Articuno is the only Pokemon you’ll want to play, you don’t need to include other tanks or support Pokemon – Misty is the only Supporter card that can currently enable your signature one-turn victory.

How Do You Play An Articuno ex Deck?
An Articuno ex deck is all about aggressivelyattacking before your opponent can get set up.
While the gimmick behind anArticuno ex deck is getting turn-one victories, you don’t necessarily have to win on the first turn, as long as you may add enough energy to Articuno before your opponent can defeat it.
Essentially, your battles will all start the same: with Articuno ex played immediately; however, you’re hoping you get a Misty in your hand to start with as well.
If you draw a Misty, immediately play it and hope for as many flips in your favor as possible so you can get Articuno online by giving itthree Water-type energy so it can use Blizzard.
Blizzard’s 80 damageis enough to defeat most basic Pokemon, and can still KO many evolutions, especially withhelp from Giovanni.
If you do not draw a Misty, don’t panic. Play Articuno and use the cards you draw to your advantage.
Your goal is to stall your opponent from doing any significant damage to you byswitching them out using Sabrina or via Red Cardif the card that could sink your chances is still in their hand.
This deck relies on luck to function well, so don’t get frustrated if you may’t win games quickly and easily.
Ultimately, you must rely on drawing Mistyand getting your energy applied to Articuno as quickly as possible, or you will need to get creative and disrupt your opponent before Articuno falls too far behind.
