Arlo’s responsibilities inTails Of Iron 2: Whiskers Of Winterprioritize caring for the kingdom’s many needs, including ensuring the safety of his subjects. To that end, your next goal is to rescue a group of helpful rats called Rangers, specifically an impressive asset to your team: Robin of Longtail.
With the Darkwing threat still looming large over Winter’s Edge, the Rangers are a key asset to your cause and need your help. As you learned in the early portion of the game, Arlo’s strength is nothing against the power of a Darkwing army, so allies will help you keep Winter’s Edge safe while you gather your forces for an all-out war.
How To Help Robin Of Longtail
Once you complete Forge and Stove, return to your throne toclaim Rescue The Rangers,where a wounded Ranger will conscript you to help save his father and brother inthe Rift.
Travel to the Bogmire Forge in the Riftand clear the wooden planks blocking the route to the right if you haven’t already.
Progress throughthe Whale Boneyardand follow the trail through some Tailspinners and Darkwing forces until you meetRobin of Longtail.
How To Upgrade Your Fire Elementa
Defeat the Darkwingswho attack you both, then rush toward theright edge ofthe map to reach a statue that bestows theFire Elementa power-up,which increases damage.
Stock up at the merchant here if you need any items, as a battle awaits you against a ferocious foe.
Once you have some Ice Antidotes and any other items you want,equip Fire weaponsbefore progressing to the next area.
How To Defeat Bommy Knocker
Enter theTemple Toadspire Ruinsand head to the top to encounter theBommy Knocker, which is weak against fire.
Avoid this beast’s ground slams by keeping your distance and only attacking if you have a clear shot or the beast is focused on Robin.
Watch out for the elemental residue on the ground and don’t stand still in it for too long, or you’ll be frozen.
If you get stuck,use an Ice Antidote,which will immediately free you; this ensures you don’t endure follow-up damage from enemy attacks.
Your newly upgraded Fire Elementa will be key to a swift victory.
Once the beast is down, collect your bounty, and don’t forget to loot the body for extra crafting materials.
What Rewards Do You Get From Rescuing The Rangers?
“Rescue the Rangers” will be completed immediately after the Bommy Knocker is defeated, and you’ll earn the following gear shortly after the battle ends.
While the quest is officially over, there’s one more reward to collect.
You’ll also receive theJagged Bone Bowwhen youmeet Robin at Winter’s Edge.
