Troops are the backbone of your legions inAge Of Empires Mobile, and they could be called more important than Heros. Leveling up your Heros and Citadel level lets you increase the maximum troop size of your legions.
There are four types of troops, each with seven different upgrade ranks: Recruit, Trainee, Skilled, Advanced, Veteran, Senior, and Champions. To promote your troops, you must have the higher tier of troops unlocked by researching at the university and have an adequate Citadel level. Already trained lower-tier troops can be quickly promoted directly to the highest rank by using the army barracks.
How To Promote Troops
To promote troops, you must have a higher tier of troops unlocked by progressing through theresearch nodes at the university.Once unlocked, troops can be promoted by simply heading to the barracks.

To unlock the higher rarity of Troops, you need a high citadel level and a high university level.
Tier 4and above troops can only betrained and promoted after reaching the Imperial Age, which requires Citadel level 15 and a high amount of resources to unlock.
When To Promote Troops
The only thing you need to consider when promoting troops is your resources. As higher tiers of troops are more expensive to train and maintain, it’s best topassively focus on promoting your troops during the early stages of your Empire.
Focusing on promoting the troops of yourstrongest heroshould be your main priority because, during most alliance events, you can only rally one legion.
If you are a beginner Governor, it’s best to avoid training the highest tier available and focus your resources on building the Citadel and your Heros.
