Decorating is a key feature inDisney Dreamlight Valley, but the village can only hold so many items. Thankfully, there’s a way to expand your more creative whims by extending your reach across the Valley with the Sew Delightful update.
By meeting the requirements, you may unlock new areas to decorate in the village. We’ll show you how to reach these areas so you can utilize them for all your decorating desires. Here’s everything you need to know to access the floating islands above Dreamlight Valley, how to decorate them, and how to get even more space for your countless furniture items.

How To Reach The Floating Islands
Before you canunlock the floating islands, you’ll need toprogress through the main storyin Dreamlight Valley. When you get the’Islands In The Sky' quest, you can talk to Merlin about the floating islands above the village.
Speak to the wizardto learn that he’s finally made a connection to those islandsthrough the wellsaround Dreamlight Valley. You need only interact with the wells toaccess the islands. You can alsofast travel therefrom your map.
Every well in the game, except the one in the Plaza, will allow you to fast travel to the floating islands.
Islands In The Sky Quest Walkthrough
Go through the wells toreach the floating Plaza Island. Once there, you can talk with Merlin about what to do with the new space. It has the same climate as the Plaza, butnone of the obstacles or immovable objects.
You won’t have to worry about Night Thorns on the floating islands!
Talk to Merlinhere to learn how to decorate the islands. He suggestsmoving Villager homesto the floating biomes to free up space. In fact, he wants you tomove his home up into the skyfor some much-needed privacy.
Open your furniture menu and start decorating.Relocate Merlin’s librarythrough the house category, thenadd five or more additional decorationsaround the biome.
When you’re done,return to Merlinto show him your work. He can finally get some reading done without being disturbed, and the islands are all yours for the taking!
How To Unlock More Floating Island Biomes
While youunlock the Plaza Island for free, there are three more you can purchase. However, they willcost a good bit of Dreamlight magic. Below are the biomes you can purchase and for how much:
Forgotten Island
15,000 Dreamlight
Each of the biomes isroughly the size of the original, but without the regional attributes like cliff faces and bodies of water. You can decorate all you like here, aseach region has a completely separate decoration limit.
Since thefloating islands load in separately, they won’t cause lag in your game.
You canunlock the additional biomeswhenever you’d like either through the wells around the village or byaccessing the Floating Islands tabfrom the fast travel menu.
What Should You Do With Floating Islands?
The floating islands areperfect for testing out design ideasor preparingthe perfect DreamSnapfor the week. You canset up fences around the wellto corral the different villagers you want for a photo.
Additionally, you canconvert an entire floating island into a farmarea. This frees up more of your main Valley for decorating and moving villagers, though youwon’t get any resources like dirtfrom digging.
Finally, you canbanish villagers to the floating islandsif you’re tired of seeing them. You can alsoarrange a special islandfor villagers you like if you want todedicate an entire areato them. This will be useful asmore villagers continue to arrivein the Valley!
