You’ll need to survive high-difficulty missions, sniff it out mid-battle, and pray you can drive it without flipping it into a ditch. Sound fun? Now let’s talk about how to actually find this deathmobile and make it work for you.
What Is The Fast Recon Vehicle?
The FRV is a vehicle designed forsquad-based mobilityandfirepower. It accommodates adriver,a rear gunnerwith a mounted heavy machine gun, andthree additional passengerswho can utilize their weapons while on board. This vehicle isn’t just about transport; it’s a weapon in its own right. It canram enemies,shoveothervehicles aside, andhandle rough terrainwith ease.
However, the FRV comes with limitations. Its fuel capacity is capped at 60 liters, requiring careful usage during extended missions. Collisions, particularly with parked vehicles, can cause fire or explosions, making reckless driving a dangerous gamble.
How To Find The Fast Recon Vehicle
To acquire the FRV, you’ll need to venture toCalypsoin theSaleria Sector, a planet dominated byIlluminate forces. This isn’t a task for the faint-hearted — theFRV only spawns in missions rated Difficulty fourorhigher, ensuring that the Illuminate will be throwing everything they’ve got at you. Missions in this region often feature human colonies, complete withstreetsandbuildingswhere the FRV might appear.
The FRV is most likely to appear near side objectives in these urban areas.
During a mission, keep aneye on your map for the car and bullets icon, which indicates the location of the FRV. Using aRecon Boostercan expand your radar range, improving your chances of finding it. Unlike some vehicles, the FRV doesn’t require activation or additional objectives to use — once you find it, it’s ready to go.
Currently, the FRV is only available through these high-difficulty missions, though future updates may introduce it as a deployable Stratagem. For now, you may preview it in the Vehicle Customization menu on your Super Destroyer.
How To Use The Fast Recon Vehicle
Driving the FRV is simple and intuitive. To get started,interact with the vehicleto take either the driver’s seat or one of the passenger seats. In the driver’s seat, forward movement is controlled byaccelerating with the W key or RT,whilebrakingis handled bypressing the S key or LT. Steering is smooth and responsive,using the A and D keyson PC or theleft stickon Consoles.
The FRV featuresfive operational modes: Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Drive Mode One, and Drive Mode Two. On PC, you canshift between these modesusing the ‘Ctrl’ key and theup arrow key. Console players canswitch modesusingL1andL2.
For the player operating the rear-mounted machine gun, firing works just like using any other weapon. The key advantage is that thegun allows for full 360-degree rotation, enabling you to target enemies in any direction.
To operate the machine gun, you’ll need to enter the back of the vehicle.
