How To Move The First Iceblock Into Position

Technically, the first iceblock is the one you move out of the way of the entrance to the puzzle. You’ll need toknock three iceblocks into the water to create a bridgethat will allow you to exit the cave.Stand on the right sideof the big iceblock andhit it with a hammerto make it slide down the path and fall into the water. That’s one down, two to go.

Iceblocks will continue to move in the direction you hit them until they run into a wall or a pit of spikes.

The spikes will destroy them, but a destroyed block will immediately respawn in its original position so you may try again.

To get started you’ll need toclimb the stairs right at the entrance and position Luigi on the switch. Mario will be on his own for this one, while Luigi will be on standby to hit the switch and make the platforms and wall inside the puzzle move.

Have Luigi hit the switch to move the yellow platform to the topof the steps, thenhave Mario step onto it. Next, have Luigi hit the switch againto move the platform back to its original position.Mario can then begin jumping acrossthe ice platforms towards the next solid platform.

The ice platforms have three stages. A smooth platform will crack when you step on it, a cracked platform will become completely cracked, and a Mario will fall through a completely cracked platform immediately if you try to step on it.

With the second block in place, you canactivate the switch floatingabove it to create new ice platforms. Two blocks down, one to go.Head back into the big roomand climb the stairs again.Assign Luigi to the switch and activate itto bring the yellow platform back to its original position.

How To Move The Last Iceblock Into Position

Once on the yellow platform, make Luigi hit the switch. Once it stops moving, jump forward three times, then jump twice onto the moving yellow platform.

This platform moves on its own, so you’ll need to time you jumps here to ensure the ice platforms don’t break underneath you.

Once the platform moves to the other side, jump to the next platform and hit the iceblock with your hammerto knock it down to the ground.

From here there’s a tricky diagonal jump you’re able to make to reach an item box on the top left corner of the room. It doesn’t seem like you can make the jump at first, but with a little practice, you can reach it.
