There arethree cluesyou’ll need to find to solve this puzzle. The first clue is given to you by a receptionist at a desk in the lobby. Walkall the way to the left and talk to the pink characterbehind the desk, closest to the Save Block.

She will providea clue to the first number block. She shows you a sketch of a fern sitting on a table. The fern has five leaves, thus, thenumber on the first block is five.

After talking to him, walk up the stairs at the front of the lobby, go through the door on the right, and cross the bridge into the communication room.

Both of the clues we’re looking for are in this room. If you spoke to the blue character at the bottom of the stairs, youshould see a glowing object near the desk. Interact with it to receive the clue for the third block. This clue depicts a sketch of cabinet doors and pencil cups with a plus sign between them.

Change the numbers on the blocks so that they read5-3-8-7. Hit the switch, and the staircase to the upper floor will be unlocked.

Code To Free The Prisoners

Once you’ve reunited Mario & Luigi, you’ll be faced with another set of number blocks and a switch. This time you’ll be given all the clues up front before you set off to explore the building to find the solutions. To get the clues simplywalk up to the prisoners, who are trapped in the room to the right of the new number blocks.

You’ll have a slightly different path getting here if you sent Princess Peach on the reconnaissance mission instead of Luigi. As long as Mario & Luigi are together you will be able to solve this puzzle.

A security camera pointing at the numbers 7,3,1, and 9, with 9 in the bottom quadrant in Mario & Luigi: Brothership.

There arefour clues corresponding to the four number blocks.

The solution to the first puzzle is in the very same room as the number blocks. If youinteract with the camerason the wall in the back left and back right corners of the room, you’ll see, from the perspective of the security camera, a collection of stars, triangles, circles, and Xs.

Your goal is toadd up the total number of triangles shown on both cameras. The camera on the left shows four triangles while the camera on the right shows two triangles. The number you should enter in the first number box is six.

When you leave this room after gathering the clues, the IDLE kids will appear and offer to help you search for the solutions. If you talk to them whenever you see them throughout the build they will help guide you towards the answers.

Go through the door on the opposite end of the walkwayfrom the room with the number blocks in it and you’ll find thetrees depicted in the second cluelined up along the righthand wall.

There arefour trees before the door and one tree after, which is why there’s a slight gap between the fourth and fifth trees in the clue. The clue shows an arrow pointing at the third and fifth trees, sointeract with bothof them to receive this message:

Tree #3: Less than 6

Tree #5: Greater than 4

With those two clues in mind, you can deduce that the second number block is five.

The next two solutions can be found on the floor below.Head towards the second-floor connection bridge(the one directly below the connecting bridge that’s broken in the middle) and you’ll findfour pillars labeled ‘6 4 9 1’.

The third clue, which depicts these four pillars, says toadd the first two numbers, subtract the third, and add the fourth. 6 + 4 = 10 - 9 = 1 + 1 = 2.The third number block is two.

For the final clue,go into the room to the left of the second-floor walkwayand head to thefar front-left cornerwhere you’ll find a security camera.Interact with the camera, and you’ll see four numbers arranged in the same d-pad configuration as the original clue.

Since the button number is shaded in the clue, we want the bottom number in this diagram. The fourth number block is nine.

Put it all together, and the solution to this puzzle is6-5-2-9.

Return to the number block room on the top floor, across the broken walkway, andinput this codeinto the four number blocks, making sure to hit the red blocks with Mario and the green blocks with Luigi. Once the code has been entered, hit the switch to unlock the gate and free the prisoners.

More Than One Code Sidequest Code

Sometime after completing Lottacoins Island and relinking its lighthouse, you’ll gain access to the More Than One Code sidequest. You can begin this quest byreturning to Lottacoins Island and talking to the yellow boyhanging out outside the main building, just to the left.

After you talk to him he will run inside and wait for you near the seating areas on the left side of the lobby. After talking to him again, you’ll be able to interactwith each table to gather intel.

You’ll need to give the person at the middle table 200 coins to get their clue. Don’t worry, you’ll get these coins back when you complete the quest.

you may talk to the people sitting at each table in any order, but here are the clues they offer, from left to right.

Left table: The secret code has four numbers. If you add them up the total is 23.

Middle table: It starts with a 3. The next three numbers get larger as you go right.

Right table: There are four numbers in the code. And two of them are less than 5.

That’s all the information we need to solve this puzzle. The first number is a three, and the numbers get larger as you go right. We know that two of the numbers are less than five, which meansthe second number has to be four. If we add those numbers together and subtract them from 23 we get 16.

The last two digits add up to 16, with the last number being higher than the third. The only possible numbers that fit here areseven and nine. Therefore, the code you need to enter is 3-4-7-9.

Head into the room on the right side of the lobby, enter the code, and hit the switch. As a reward for solving the puzzle, you’ll be rewarded with two1-Up Mushrooms, two Super Syrup Jars, and a Gold Medallion.
