As you level up inPath of Exile 2, you’ll gain passive skill points. These can be used to invest in nodes on the passive skill tree, which has an overwhelming amount of nodes for you to unlock. If you are just starting for the first time, it’s only natural that you feel like you invested in the wrong node.
Thankfully, respeccing your skill points is fairly simple. In this guide, we are going to take a look at how you can respec your passive skill points in Path of Exile 2. Rather than spending a unique currency to do this, you’ll simply use gold at an NPC who unlocks through the story.
How To Unlock Passive Skill Point Respeccing
The ability to respec passive skill points can beunlocked within the first few quests of Act One. Overall, you’ll need to unlock theHooded One.
This NPC unlocks and becomes a permanent fixtureafter completing the questThe Mysterious Shade. In this quest, you’ll need tocollect two keys by defeating Asinia and Draven,as well as the main boss for the quest.
After this has been done, you’llreturn to the Clearfell Encampment, speak with Una, and revive the Hooded One.
How To Respec Passive Skill Points
To respec your skill points, simply talk to the Hooded One and select the option to Refund Passives. From here, you’ll see the passive skill tree pulled up on the screen.
The Hooded One can alsoidentify items for free(without aScroll of Wisdom).
By hovering over unlocked passives, you cansee how much gold it will take in order to successfully respec it.You’ll only be able tounallocate skill points if they are at the ‘end’ of branches. If you hover over a skill that has another attached outward (that’s already been unlocked), then you won’t be able to unallocate it.
Once the point has been unallocated, you’ll be able to place it elsewhere on the tree. You don’t have to use the points immediately though, so you cantake some time to think about yourpotentialbuild.
With this in mind,it can be quite expensive if you want to respec a whole branch of nodes.Thankfully, gold can be obtained in a variety of ways, so you’re able to just do some farming (and selling) in order tomake enough gold to respec the passive points that you want.
