This collection includes The Pied Piper, who is famous for using his music to lure rats and children. Thankfully, there are no children in the game, so the in-game version is only known for his rat-controlling abilities.

How To Play As The Pied Piper
The Pied Piper is equipped with a fancy flute that can unleash deadly musical notes at your enemies. More importantly, he can do it from range. So,there is no reason to get in close while controlling the musical man.Keep at a safe distance, and blast that music out.
Since a lot of the enemies in the game do their damage up close, they will keep coming towards you. In most situations, the best practice is tokeep backing up while still firing at your enemies.This will allow you to land a lot of damage before they even reach you.
A great thing about The Pied Piper’s flute is that itdoesn’t need to be reloaded or anything.you may simply keep firing out notes without ever stopping - except to use an ability. Therefore, when you’re in a fight, never stop attacking.
He doesn’t participate in those fights alone, as he has his rats by his side. You start with a few, but more gradually spawn. Most of the time, they’re docile, as they only attack when you command them.These creatures are key to playing as The Pied Piper,as they can do significant damage after you build them up.
The Pied Piper’s Abilities And How Best To Use Them
Like every character, The Pied Piper has a collection of abilities that you can upgrade during a run.Here are all of them and an explanation of how to use them.
Infestation
Trait
This is the command for your rats to attack. So, when you use it, the little creatures run toward the enemies and begin attacking for a few seconds before they die. Your pack of rats will then start building up again.
On your HUD, next to the Infestation icon, it says how many rats you’ve currently got. Don’t use the ability until you’ve at least got most of them.
Flute
Attack
The flute is your standard attack that fires out musical notes. You can do it continuously.
As this is the standard attack, you want to use it all the time. Just make sure you have some distance between you and your foes when you unleash it.
Solo
Power
With Solo, you can unleash a few waves of more powerful flute notes, which are good for hurting stronger foes.
The recharge time on this is only four seconds, so don’t be afraid to fire it out a lot. In fact, you should get into the habit of using it multiple times in every encounter.
Fortissimo
Special
You place down a circle that makes every enemy inside it vulnerable, meaning they take more damage.
This is great to use on bosses and in conjunction with Infestation.
Acoustic Blast
Defense
The Acoustic Blast is a shockwave-like move that knocks enemies away from you. In the process, you become briefly intangible, meaning you can’t be hurt, but it’s only for less than a second.
The ability is great for increasing an enemy’s stagger gauge and stunning them. So, use it when you want to knock someone down.
Unchained Melody
Ultimate
You move quickly around the battlefield while rapidly firing out powerful, auto-targeting notes from your flute.
It’s perfect for the chapter two fight against the Faceless Master Nightmare because it can quickly take out the little creatures that spawn, thus stunning the boss.
Plague of Rats
You spawn a swarm of rats that you control. They deal plenty of damage.
The swarm is pretty big, meaning it’s great for damaging groups of enemies.
The Best Pied Piper Talents
On a run, you can acquireall sorts of upgrades for The Pied Piper and his abilities.They’re called talents.

What It Does
Explosive Rats
When you unleash the rats using Infestation, they attack like usual, but they explode upon death. It makes them a bit deadlier.
Grand Finale
When using the ability Grand Finale, your Fortissimo explodes before it goes away. As a result, it not only makes enemies vulnerable, but it hurts them, too.
Sniper
Sniper increases the range of your standard flute attacks and solo power attacks. Therefore, you become an even deadlier long-range combatant.
Explosive Blast
The Acoustic Blast now deals 40 damage. As a result, it both stuns and hurts the enemy.
Sforzando
When using Fortissimo, everyone gets pulled into the center of the zone. This helps with crowd control and sets up AOE attacks for your teammates.
Stimulant Vibes
Rats are invincible and deal more damage when they’re in the Fortissimo zone. This makes the Fortissimo ability and your rats an even better combination.
Leeching Charm
Every 20 attacks made by your rats gives you and any nearby heroes health. For a full pack of rats, 20 attacks isn’t a lot, so you will get a decent boost from this if you’re using your little creatures.
