InAloft, the skies are quite literally the limit. So long as you can soar through the puffy white clouds, you can reach any island. With a glider, traveling gets much, much easier. It’s more than just a tool to get around though–it’s a way to express yourself in your adventures.

We’ll walk you through everything you need to know, from uncovering the secrets to making a glider to how to use it. You’re sure to make even the prettiest birds jealous with your glider design skills. Don’t settle for the standard glider when you can make one all your own!

How To Craft A Glider

The first island you arrive on has a variety of resources and secrets for you to discover during the Leaving the Nest quest. Your goal is toreach the top of the mountainby breaking rocks and spelunking through caves.

At the top, you’llfind a detailed Frescodepicting a person using a glider. This gives you all the information you need to know to craft your own device. Open your building menu andselect the Glider Stand from the Home tab.

You’llneed five woodto construct it!

Interact with the Glider Standto create a new glider. It requirestwo wood and three leaf fabricto craft your first glider. Here, you canpick out several features, including the oculus, material, and cosmetics as well.

How To Customize Your Glider

When you’re using the Glider Stand, you canadjust the appearanceof the glider. In the cosmetic section, you canselect up to two colors and patterns, along with any trailing features.

You’ll find more options as you explore, allowing you tofurther customize your gear with colorful pigmentsand designs!

Play around with your options tocreate a variety of gliders. you may save several templates andmodify them at any timeby using the Glider Stand.

How To Use Your Glider

To use your glider,open your inventory and equip it. From there, you can use it bypressing the jump input twice. The glider will open up and allow you tosoar through the skies with easeand speed.

If you touch any ground or obstacles, the glider will retract.

You candash repeatedly in the skyusing your boosts. If you time it right, bypressing the input when the meter is in the white, you canglide at breakneck speedsto reach different islands.

By default, the settings for theglider controls are inverted. You’ll need to lean forward to go down and pull back to go up. This can be changed in the settings menu if you’d prefer to switch controls for an easier time gliding.
