There are a lot of moving parts inFarming Simulator 25, and you can be forgiven for not understanding what most things do until you’re familiar with the game. Just regarding crops, there are a ton of different ones to grow, and many of them have different mechanics and intricacies that you’ll learn either by playing or researching.
Oilseed radishes and their purpose is one of those things that is not going to be clear right off the bat. It’s easy to think they’re just going to be another crop like wheat or canola, when, in fact, they serve a very different purpose.
Oilseed Radishes Are A Catch Crop
The first thing to know about oilseed radishes is that they’re acatch crop. This means that instead of harvesting them normally, they areused as fertilizerfor other plants.
Youdo not harvest oilseed radishes, and youdo not sell oilseed radishes. They don’t directly earn you any money, but they will ensure that you earn more money for whatever you grow and harvest after them.
What Do You Do With Oilseed Radishes?
The process for growing and using oilseed radishes is similar in many ways to other simple crops like wheat, but theprocess differs at the end.
Planting Oilseed Radishes
Planting oilseed radishes is the same as planting other normal crops.Fill the seederwith oilseed radish seeds, and get tospreading them through your field.
Oilseed radish seeds are used at a low rate, so the overhead price for them is going to be low.
Oilseed Radish Growth
Oilseed radishesgrow very quickly, and are typically ready for the next step the day after planting them. They will grow anytime between March and October, and can be harvested anytime throughout the year.
Cultivating Oilseed Radishes
This is where the oilseed radish process differs. Instead of harvesting them, youdrive your cultivator over them. It’s going to get rid of the radishes, and fertilize and clear the field for whatever crop you’d like to grow next.
Oilseed Radish Yield Bonus
Whatever you do happen to grow next is going to have an increased yield because of the fertilized soil, netting you asignificant amount of extra moneywhen you sell it.
Because the cost of oilseed radish seeds is so low, thebiggest investment here is time. You could spend more money on different fertilizers that are applied to your crops quicker, or you could spend less money on oilseed radish seeds, but a bit more time on the process.
